USRun, don't walk away from OfferUp Don't take just this one guy's opinion for it. Just look at what you are agreeing to when use the site. The terms and conditions go so far beyond buying and selling goods that it is shocking.

USSteer Clear Any app that REQUIRES most users to upload a government issues photo ID and allow for an uploaded facial scan is downright ridiculous. With the incidents of data hacks and breaches on the rise, would you want your drivers license and biometrics stored anywhere? And for what? Just to purchase something? This is an example of going way too far. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Offer Up. Yes they will say it’s to verify identity to maintain a “safe and more trusted “ shopping experience. What about when that information is hacked and thieves have all your personal information and biometrics like your facial scan. No thank you. Stick with reputable sites like eBay.

USOfferUp..Crash and Burn I doubt if this company will succeed or improve. The emphasis on income generation for OfferUp is the extreme priority with ads proliferating the site and many requests for a monthly fee to upgrade (to what?). 30 minute wait before item posts, and now, 15 max appliance posts allowed, and I recently had a post removed for a $50 set of garage shelves because there was a FEE!!! Facebook marketplace, and specifically, Craigslist maintain a forum more inclined to actually help people sell their stuff with no strings attached. Attention OfferUp: You're not eBay and never will be. The new CEO totally trashed this site.

USI received the item ordered... but it had buldged battery, Offerup interface totally failed for me I received the item ordered. The listing description was correct, the seller had never used the tablet. That is fair. Received well packed after waiting 5 days for the seller to send it. Item was new in open box... battery was dead and bulging, tablet basically useless. I was UNABLE to follow the process, i.e. request refund from seller online or in the app, request buyer protection online or in the app, only email was available. Support is unable or unwilling to do anything. Just check the online / in app timestamps, which I couldn't provide (I guess) Support was delayed and pretty much stated I should work it out with the seller, who never responded (I naturally could only contact via their interface ...) I got email messages every time I logged in "on a new device", I tried different browsers to see if I could respond in the official way. It all keys off of the "delieverd" message I only got in email. If the submit button was available at all I got ERROR 440 when trying to request a refund. App was basically cluttered with commercials for related items. I did not get the messages I needed to respond to in the app (response not available on line, by design, probably to force you to the app), so basically I was NOT ABLE to follow the process, the email correspondence DOES NOT COUNT. Want to talk to a human ? Not an option. Not really clear how they calculate the two day intervals ? My guess is it is based on the response (which I couldn't make), it is certainly not based on the email responses. Compared to ebay, this experience was a joke. A total waste of time and money. I've purchased synthesizers on ebay from Japan, adhesives from Germany and numerous other items and ALWAYS had positive experiences. OfferUp buyers beware !
