New & Improved TTP - Not so much As a 15 year plus member on the original Toy Peddler, that had become a great site for selling and buying diecast. Fortunately when the migration to Hobbydb happened I was not in the position of having a ton of sellers credits banked (maybe $50), so losing those in exchange for no fees on Hobbydb wasn't a huge issue. What IS a huge issue is the fact that Hobbydb is not remotely user friendly, and trying to use the search function (as a seller or buyer) is a painful process at best. Gone are the days of scrolling through a members specific category listings and purchasing as you can no longer easily find those listings. Looking at member profiles, people with 25000 plus sales on the previous site now have 25. So traffic that's actually purchasing is WAY down from the previous version. Add to that multiple site downtimes/glitches and slow page loading as you scroll through an endless mass of pictures. I can appreciate that there may have been issues we as end users didn't see with the old site, but the "improvements" made to the back-end side of the new site have pretty much ruined the customer experience on the front-end.

The new Toy Peddler site is terrible The new Toy Peddler site is terrible. It was so much better in the old format. Why mess with something that easy to look through and search and replace it with this trash. Might wanna revert it back cause it's terrible now. 15 yrs on the site and I'm done...

This site is a dismal failure This site is a dismal failure. After promising a better experience than we were having on The Toy Peddler, It has shown to be poorly designed and difficult to use. I had over $800 in listing credits on TTP and now they are gone. TTP said that listing credits never expire, Hobbydb says that they will let me sell for no fees for a while. That does not help as my sales have dropped from 350-450 per month to one sale a day. At that rare I would have to sell for free on Hobbydb for 4 or 5 years to break even.

Took Our Money And Refuses A Refund. This company took money from customers on their Site The Toy Peddler for the purchases of listing credits. They have now converted the items of their customers over to another of their websites Hobbydb which does not use credits and they refuse to refund the money paid for those credits. Instead they are offering a short time with no charges on the new site but all of the items they moved over were already prepaid until sold for up to 3 years. Taking money for a promised item and then offering something entirely different without offering a refund is fraud. You can't sell someone a new car then deliver a used one. To add insult to injury the new site is rife with issues. I have spent hours trying to help them work through all of these but they have still taken me for $3,868.96 in listing credits and they refuse to make a refund or any responsible settlement. They hide behind their "Terms & Conditions," of no refunds on credits but they have made them worthless since their new system does not use them. I am rejecting the Hobbydb response because: As they have said below. They changed the rules. They took my money and then changed the rules. Compare that to say a car dealer that took your money for a new car and then delivered a used car saying, "Oh, Well we don't sell New cars anymore, but, we will be glad to give you an extended warranty on that used car. As said all of the over 7,000 items I had listed at the time of the conversion were PREPAID for sale on the site for 3 years. Their best offer has been for 1 year of no fees on any items. Those that are prepaid are prepaid and should not have any fees at all. As for fees on new listings why would I want to make more new listings when the site is slow, poorly organized, and so difficult to use that sales are down over 90% vs the old site because customers got so frustrated they just leave. The old site served up pages of items 45 at a time almost instantly. The pages had page numbers that you could hit to jump right away to other pages forward or back. The new site after a wait of 2-3 seconds for the "SPINNING WHEEL," searves up 18 items that you scroll down to 3 wide and 18 in total. After you get to the bottom of the page you get the spinning wheel and then 9 items and so on as it repeats 9 at a time. If you go to Hobbydb's main site you can see that this design is to place Google ads which they are being paid for in between the items being presented. Despite what they are trying to tell everyone their intrest is not in helping sellers, but rather in building their database which they use to justify raising funds from the public several times per year. You will soon see all of these "NEW ITEMS," that were added to their database from The Toy Peddler, AT OUR EXPENSE (Mine and the Thousands of other Toy Peddler Users), being used to boast their great job of Building "The Worlds Fastest Growing Collectibles Database," in the numbers they post for fund raising I am certain. I charge $100 per hour for my services, and have given this new site thousands of dollars in FREE help based on that to try and mitigate all of the issues they had when they moved the items from The Toy Peddler to Hobbydb. Further I was one of the first users of Hobbydb several years ago and many of the issues that they had then, are still present. That is because their mission of building a database does not conform with the best interests of someone wanting to buy or sell the collectibles. Especially a high volume seller. Add to that the fact that customers have to do the SLOW SCROLL or the inefficient search on the new site and you have a nightmare since the transition. Hobbydb has made numerious statements to me over the phone that the issues with the credits were just really hard to figure out, and that this was the roughest conversion they have ever had. Well, that is business.. You need to step up to the plate and do the right thing, give the people their money back, or at least a reasonable choice. Chances are if your future funding rounds fail it will be the end of Hobbydb anyway.

HobbyDB does not deserve this 1 star… HobbyDB does not deserve this 1 star but but its required to give a star rating. It is a scam they take your money and make out like you are the problem and they do everything correctly. I have sold the same car several times after selling it the first time. When they took over TheToyPeddler and merged it with HobbyDB site they took my listing credits of close to $100 away. Did not offer a refund or partial refund. They removed all my current listings and told me I had to relist them which would require having to repay to list these Its again. Having to pay a listing fee twice is just another way to scam more money.
