I have been buying ornaments for years and love the special attention given to each. I buy ornaments every year to earmark a special thing that the grandchildren have done during the year. (ex. starting kindergarten, hobbies, special "firsts" and accomplishments like potty training, riding bikes, etc.). For the individual families, I find ornaments that have the number of people in their family and even add pets. This year I got them ones that have everyone wearing face masks.
