The Way Training Should Be ! I enjoyed being comfortable in my own home and with my friends while completing my service dog training at my own pace. My anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress keeps me from attending many functions and normal classes. Many of the class requirements for service dog training in my area include long drivetimes, over 2 hours, exhausting days, and strict scheduling, making the programs difficult to complete. I also find many of the requirements evasive, like in home checks done by strangers. Most of the programs also train only rescue dogs, training your preferred breed is not an option. I am not comfortable with all dog breeds. This program gave me options that are perfect for me.

Another great course from Dog Academy I've taken several courses from Dog Academy. They have all been excellent and this one was no exception. It started with the basic things you need to know as well as what will help your dog become successful. the videos give a clear idea of what you need to practice to be successful in training your dog not to bark. The written explanations are extensive but clearly written. The whole course was one of the best I've taken. This course is valuable for a pet owner, the owner of an ESA or therapy dog or like me, an owner of a sservice dog.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I submitted my information on their website and got a call an hour later from a number in North Carolina (I’m located in Oregon). He said he was a dispatcher for Oregon dog training. I said I was interested in a board and train program because this is always what my family has done with young puppies and it’s worked amazing. I’m willing to spend thousands of dollars to ensure my puppy gets good training. However, he said there was no board and train options, and that I should do in person training at my house for $350 for 3 sessions. I’ve been talking to trainers in my area and I know this is overpriced. I wasn’t comfortable with purchasing it over the phone with discussing the price with my boyfriend or even knowing the trainer. He was very very pushy and insistent, saying I could not get this deal if I don’t take it right now. After I told him no multiple times he offered a virtual course for $99??? Not what I was looking for at all. I again told him I needed to think on it. He then started to say that I needed to take this training and not abandon my puppy. I NEVER said I was going to give up or abandon my puppy. This was incredibly unprofessional and made me sick. He kept saying this over and over again and ended the call by saying “ When you give up your dog make sure he goes to better owners”

The Dog Academy provided a terrific foundation, and a long term vision. I am so pleased that the training was both enjoyable and serious. Having a service dog is important to me, and certainly, with an on-line course, I realize that having a good service dog takes time and continuous practice.
