GBFAKE Risk-Free Trial I was provided the Toptal standard "risk-free trial" to test out a designer for three day and once I cancelled my trial because the resource did not meet expectations, they invoiced me IN FULL and then asked me if I would be willing to pay the resource out of my pocket. Will now need to spend time to handle with my legal/financial institutions to resolve. I had a good experience initially, and would have used to service again when it made more sense for my company. After I cancelled the trial before it moved into a contract, a representative of Toptal called and left a voicemail telling me I would not pay anything for my trial, but also asking me to pay the developer out of my own pocket after I cancelled my "risk-free trial" because - "Now the developer will not get paid anything, since the trial is free for you" - which is truly ridiculous since I WAS invoiced and they try to pass the burden of guilt for their clients to pay the TopTal engineers for the free trial that they offer. Since that phone call, they have fully cancelled my account on the platform that I paid $500.00 for and disallowed me to log in so that I couldn't manage the contract or request any further talent. Feels hardly legal. Truly upsetting experience.

GBMy only regret with TopTal is that I wish I'd found them sooner! I have had the opportunity to work with various companies in the past, but this one stands out from the rest. The team I have interacted with has been exceptional in their attentiveness and responsiveness. Dan, who I spoke with initially was very informative, and I was referred to Alessandro who answered all my questions. Within a couple of days, they provided me with candidates to interview for the position. They gave me ample time to consider my decision and all my questions about the contract details were answered clearly. Since then, my business has transformed and I have an account manager who is a pleasure to work with. They even set me up with a free consultation with another professional, which proved to be very enlightening. My only regret is that I didn't find TopTal sooner!

BEPrefect to find skilled people fast - fast replies and follow up - listening to our needs - great profiles and people! Only downside: billing time of 14d on every invoice with our credit card as back up. Creates sometimes problems for other software licenses.

GBFirst UI Experience This was my company's first experience using a UI designer. Previously, we relied on our engineers to design screens. While I products were functional, they had no "pop". First impression of Toptal designers was that they were way above our weight class and overkill for what we perceived as our need. We were wrong. Designer we hired started by researching similar products in the market so he brought a third-party perspective to what we were asking him to do. It took a while to develop a working relationship. But within a few weeks, designer was clicking with our team. By the end of the engagement, we had completely redesigned our product -- look, feel, flow and function. Unexpected benefit was the designer's work product gave our developers all the tools they needed to create the new UI on our platform with a minimum of re-coding.
