About ExecuNet

Dave Opton Founder & CEO | ExecuNet I started ExecuNet in 1988 because the company I was working for was sold, and for the first time I found myself, at age 48, looking for a job when I didn't have one. As a senior executive in the marketplace trying to get the attention of recruiters and hiring managers, the feeling was "me against them". I was not truly prepared for the search, and the results made me, well, very frustrated. Okay, very angry. One day it occurred to me: There is no good reason why looking for a job has to feel like a dead-end experience for anyone. I decided then and there that I wanted to share the skills I had developed so that others might learn from my personal odyssey. ExecuNet was created so that senior executives could get the very best career advice possible to help them understand and take on whatever they're up against. Fast forward to today, and our mission has not changed: ExecuNet is a brand of new possibilities, relentlessly focused on providing people at the top of the organization advice and counsel they can trust to create the transformative career results they want, whatever their dream might be or the challenge they might be facing. To put it directly: we are an executive career services organization where C-Suite leaders, Vice Presidents and their direct reports can obtain trusted guidance and personal support with making a corporate job change, building a portfolio of board seats, launching a side business, or taking their careers in other fulfilling new directions. I get it, because, like I said, I've been there. Life as a senior-level executive is hard, harder than most people think. Long hours, crushing workloads, multiple and constant pressures, unpopularity, and loneliness often come along with the job. And for many these days, so does re-evaluation. Perhaps now more than ever before, executives are assessing their work-lives and pondering their options for the next great chapter in their careers. They are reimagining what their work lives could be. They want better choices and to be excited about work again. You might be telling yourself you're too old or too settled to make the change you want, or that it's too risky, or you simply don't have the time. One of these could be your exact situation. Whether your circumstances comprise your ability to change and succeed is entirely up to you. All I can tell you is this: I'm living proof that the perfect role is out there waiting for you, and that making an exciting career change when you're over 50 or confronted with any dilemma is completely achievable. Even the best of the best executives have blind spots. We can all use a trusted, outside perspective, weighing in. The trusted experts and caring, personal success agents you'll meet at ExecuNet will help you implement the action plan you need to get the results you're after - whether it entails immediate executive job search strategy or major career exploration. Isn't it time you took the limits off and pursued success with people in your corner who will offer you truth, honesty and empowerment to be the best? All of us here at ExecuNet hope you'll let us be a part of your journey. I welcome your feedback anytime, which you can give by e-mailing us at [email protected] or calling us at 203-750-1030.

Support for a big transition I was very happy with the services I paid for - resume writing, value-graphic, cover letters, LinkedIn profile and coaching. I had paid someone else for a resume which was okay, but not great. With ExecuNet, I got a great resume. It was a good collaborative process and I felt heard. The coaching was extremely helpful across several fronts. I was transitioning from a long career in one company and quite worried since I hadn't been in the job market in a long time. ExecuNet took care of me.

Disappointing Sadly, the advice received wasn’t anything special nor was it tailored for me. Seemed like the goal was to “sell” more packages. No recruiters have contacted me since joining. The metrics indicate an investment without any viable return.

Every person I've interacted with at ExecuNet has been excellent. I personally think the mark of a good organization is reflected in how much it cares about the quality of service it provides to customers. Every person I've interacted with at ExecuNet has been excellent. The team is serious about providing useful, valuable content to their members, and they go the extra mile to provide the best perspectives, resources and thought leaders available to help their members succeed. It has been a pleasure to be a part of that.

Quality! From the initial phone call, each conversation was clear, concise and the team was engaging to ensure I understood how to navigate the website, take advantage of tutorials and classes. Follow up conversations ensured comprehension and they were there to answer any questions. My meeting with Stacie H. was very professional, she listened, took her time to provide constructive feedback on my thoughts and comments. I was impressed with the level of detail and time she took explaining the services ExecuNet has to offer! I did not feel rushed or pressured to make a decision, and the master classes were first class.
