We were met at Kathmandu airport by our trek guide Ashish (Ash), who presented us with a garland of flowers. We were then transferred to our hotel and the next day which was a rest day, Himlayan Glacier arranged a sightseeing tour of the city for us which was really well planned and informative. Later in the day we went to Himlayan Glacier offices for a briefing and and inspection of our kit for the trek. The next morning we were picked up nice and early and transferred to the domestic airport for our flight to Lukla. On arrival our 7 day trek commenced and we were able to see some incredible scenery as the Himalayn mountains unfolded before our eyes. Ash paid attention to detail and each day took a log of our blood oxygen levels and heart rates and provided a briefing for what was in store the next day. Ash worked hard to ensure our meals were delivered hot and timely and was always ready ahead of time to get all the arrangements in place, helping us to get wifi codes, batteries charged and was our personal photographer throughout the trek. Ash ensured that no stone was left unturned to help us reach our goal timely and on the 7th day we were celebrating at the Everest Base Camp. Health and Safety checks were applied throughout and no corner cutting to ensure that we were in the best shape to complete the gruelling trek. Our porter 'Char' was incredible, an absolute trojan, kept pace with us throughout and always with a smile on his face.
