GO FOR IT! Experience of a lifetime! Sara and Gabriel of the Jungle Journal are some of the most thoughtful and giving people in the industry!! If you are thinking about going on a trip with The Jungle Journal, GO FOR IT! I went on the trip to the Lacandona Jungle and it was above and beyond my expectations. Chiapas is stunning, from the rich political history, to the stories of indigenous folks, to the serene peace of the jungle. Each day was crafted for you to learn, explore, and adventure around, with even time to rest in between. Sara and Gabriel were fantastic guides, always helping and checking on every person and making sure that the itinerary reflected what we all wanted out of the trip. Even our driver, Alfredo, was absolutely epic as well and became part of our crew, essential to the trip’s success. Most importantly, The Jungle Journal created an experience that people could truly relax into and make their own. The calm energy of the jungle itself is worth this trip, as that energy is probably something you’ve never felt in your life. If you’re thinking about this trip, don’t hesitate. Just go, say yes, and let the magic of Mexico help you settle in a little closer to yourself!

A transformative ethical travel experience I went on TJJ's first ever expedition, to the Lacadona Jungle in Chiapas. With Sara and Gabriel as our leaders, the trip really showed me that a way of travel I’ve always dreamed of is possible. It was conscious, local, and full of cultural connection, relationship-building, and stewardship. With these shared values, our travel group felt like family by the end of the trip. We had a great mix of experiences from the city of San Cristobal to the jungle, and got to experience food, outdoor recreation, and several cultural elements. The whole time, Sara and Gabriel worked to keep us emotionally and physically safe, adapting to our needs and to changing regional circumstances with care. It's exciting to think they're just getting started with the potential of these trips -- I can't wait to travel with them again.
