Warning Warning! If you want your deposit back within less than two months and not want to write several messages to get it back. Go somewhere else. I returned my car October 22nd and today 2,5 months later I am at the office in person to try to get it back since I never got response on my messages. They blame it on my bank. 30 000 Mexican Pesos is a lot of money to loose. I have always rented my cars here but this is the second time it happens so this will definitely be the last rental here.

Avoid using American Rent-A-Car. Avoid using American Rent-A-Car. Was quick to help at the beginning of hire and couldn't do enough for you so was very happy. To then be ignored for the last week about getting my deposit back of $250 that was taken at the beginning of hire which I was told by Robin at Tampa would be returned into my account once the car has been returned. It's been a week now and I've been ignored since returning the vehicle. I have emailed and called and had no response. I'm am shocked at their customer after care quick to take your money but not repay what is mine and owed and not theirs to keep. I will be advising to anyone and everyone to not fall for their lies. Taking from families shocking. Also they ask for a review before you actually take the vehicle. I refused until I returned glad I did refuse.

scam My flight was delayed (as customary) and when I arrived at my destination, they said my reservations was a no show, and charged me for the whole 9 days of car rental, without reimbursing me or giving me a car. No solution was provided.

American Car Rental is a scam American Car Rental is a scam. Stay away. They fleece unsuspecting tourists by charging a little online and then when you arrive asking for a 300 percent up charge for liability insurance. It’s criminal. I wish I could do more to expose them

Total trash WOW! The 5 star reviews must be their staff or the people that took a gamble and won! Car broke down, I was on hold for >2hrs with NO answer, had to have the car towed because it was on a military base, and they won't replace it with another or refund the money. Complete trash. Apparently the tow companies even know about how awful they are! And their manager at Pensacola Airport is as clueless and useless as they come. Renter beware!
