They fail to reply to your questions on… They fail to reply to your questions on autotrader so You ring up and they say “we’re not sure that cars still available I’ll speak to boss and call you back” they don’t bother……..customer service is shocking before you’ve brought a car so I can imagine exactly what it’s like when you’ve handed over money……..very poor

Selective motors…. Excellent service, excellent car. Selective motors were excellent and Dwight was particularly good. He helped me with everything and couldn’t do more to assist me with not just purchasing the car but all the admin required as well. I will be buying a car off them again. Excellent service (oh….and the car is fabulous).

Avoid at all cost! Avoid at all cost! All started well at the point of sale with a very friendly Harry but turned out the sales speech was all porkies. Went from trouble to trouble with the car from day 1, costing us a lot of money on top of an already expensive purchase price and a lot of time without the car while being fixed by a proper garage. SMD was completely unhelpful with all of it. Bear in mind Selective Motors Direct is not a garage, they just resale cars from a yard and hide behind a supposedly warranty that actually covers nothing cause they are more exceptions to the cover than things it covers for (Autogroup). Was given an invoice of supposedly replaced parts such as filters which had to be replaced a few months after purchase after being stranded on the side of the road. A very long and painful story with this car which is still causing us troubles to this day 12 months down the line. Save yourself the troubles and buy your car from a proper garage instead. Edit following the reply from the seller: You are the dishonest party Sir. When we bought the car and I pointed out all the oil stains throughout the engine you mentioned the leak had been fixed but wasn't washed and that you would wash it before delivery. Received the car in the same poor state not washed and the car leaked oil all over our car park during the first week of use! When I raised the issue with you you sent me to the warranty company which we involved from day one and we followed the process to the letter. Once we had secured their authorisation for a 1h diagnostic we brought it to our local garage who advised after an hour that they would most likely need to remove the engine to figure out where it was leaking from. The warranty company didn't want to cover this but suggested we proceed at our own cost as they might have been able to cover the fix. It took over 4h of labour to disassemble the car engine and find the leak from a previous injector repair (which according to the garage was a botched job). When the garage contacted Autogroup to tell them the problem and that the fix would be to put sealant to stop the leak the warranty company said seal issues were not covered and they couldn't do anything for it. So we were left either reassembling the car (another 4h of labour) to get back to square one (a leaky engine) and a massive bill for nothing or fix it once and for all at our own cost hoping you would own up. Obviously there was no choice at all the only sensible thing to do was to repair the car while it was dismantled. A £1000 garage bill later plus £500+ worth of taxi and bus fares to commute while the car was being repaired (10 days) I contacted you and surprise surprise there was nobody replying my text; I have tried calling you multiple times, you only picked up the first time telling me you were going to hospital if I could call back, which I did, and every time then that you saw my number you didn't pickup anymore; when I called a few times with hidden caller ID you picked up but hung up directly as soon as you heard my voice, clearly avoiding all communications. It took me threatening you to go to court to have a reply from you willing to refund £350! By then (6 months after purchasing the car) we were so fed up and exhausted by the situation and potentially facing a long court process we agreed to settle for £500 refund from you, barely a third of what this had cost us, half of the garage bill anyway! I have proof of all of this, all the messages left unanswered over months, phone call recordings of you hanging up on me, letters from the garage and autogroup etc. And then the car has had issues over issues leaving us stranded on the side of the road multiple times waiting hours for recovery and yet more costs for repairs, one of those for example was because of the oil filter supposedly replaced during the MOT you had conducted at the point of sale; our garage confirmed it was impossible given the state of it that it had been replaced when you said it was, so yet more lies! So own up, you are the dishonest one, and I am clearly not the only one leaving similar review about your business!

Great Experience I have just bought a car from Selective Motors Direct and I am very happy with my experience, the staff were very friendly and offered me a drink while talking about the car. I can’t fault anything from start to finish and I am so happy with my new car. Thankyou for everything.
