GBIgnored Every Requirement, Outrageos Price I connected with two data vendors for an AI medical imaging project. The first reviewed my requirements, checked with their network, and informed me they would not be able to meet my requirements. We parted on good terms. The second group I connected with was Shaip. For 4 months, we worked to check if the data was available, define requirements and set project scale and price. I provided numerous guides to labeling, including my own preferred format and the requested format for data entry. I also provided a "gold standard" set of images and drawn image masks. I received a proposal including sample data asking ~$10/image. Of the dozens of required and optional data labels, just 2 were filled in: patient sex and file size. 3/7 of the images were under the minimum required size and 2/7 were missing the patient sex entirely. Some of the data labels visible within the pictures, such as skin tone and body part in image “were not possible to get.” Coincidentally, if you google the relevant medical condition and go to the image tab, you will find many of the images they tried to sell me in the top search. Interesting, some of the required metadata, like the diagnosis, was available if you click the image and look at the source page
