Unprofessional work and deceptive return policy Uptown Website Works failed to follow through what they promised. I spent over $600 on what my web designer, Brian Carlson, called a “template” for me to finish on my own. Their satisfaction guarantee on the website doesn’t work, it’s total bs. I have sent email request after request, live messaging, and by phone only for each of the employees to go silent. Have not heard anything from any of them after the designer said “they’re negotiating the amount to be refunded.” In the meantime they suddenly changed their refund policy after I repeatedly asked for my money back and they went silent when I sent any messages. Here’s what they did: •They promised a misleading “satisfaction guarantee” on the home page that does everything except offer a refund when you ask for it •nobody finished the damn job, they sent me a template said I can finish on my own •the web designer asked me for a good review before he even started designing the website •when he finally started working on the website he labeled my project name as “tacky” and never followed through on anything in an appropriate timely manner, he obviously didn’t care just wanted my money. •I asked him for a refund immediately because we were obviously not on the same page, he insisted that his company knows what they’re doing •after he sent me the “template” to finish on my own, I asked for a refund again. He argued with me said he can’t because blah blah blah shenanigans until I said I would post an unhappy comment because prior to our negotiation their return policy was “if for any reason you’re not satisfied” we’ll refund your money. No they don’t. He’s a liar, they’re head office is a crook, and their live chat doesn’t do a thing except promise you somebody will return your message so nobody is responsible. Everybody went silent. They said they would have a resolved amount to be refunded by Monday, they never did. I kept calling sending live chats, emails, no response That’s the story! Unfulfilled obligations, cheap deal. Nothing has been handled. I am never recommending your website shenanigans to anybody!
