The way this one works is the "seller" will contact you becasue you are selling your car and give some story about being ripped off before and they want you to provide them with proof that the car is not on finance and that is it the sellers responsibility (It's not its the buyers responsibility to check this out). The plead with you to get a report against the car which is in dollars and not GBP. To make money they essentially have to get a high throughput of scams and because the costs are so small (typically £8-£9) then expect you will not claims against them to get your money back.

I thought it was a Facebook scam Ok it seems I jumped the gun here, but a dreadful service , there is no email from the company , they take your money then you fret the whole day it’s a scam then you get the report. Can I suggest you send the email first saying we will bill you now and your report will follow. Just be clear what you are going to do.
