About High Alert Institute, Inc.

With its Vision and Mission established 20 years ago in the wake of 9/11, the High Alert Institute became a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization in 2011. Headquartered in Lake Wales, Florida, the High Alert Institute envisions a world where all people, families, communities, businesses, and organizations are Disaster-Ready. The Institute’s mission is to help those not served by municipal, local, county, state, regional, or federal programs/agencies to be Disaster-Ready. We have fulfilled our mission primarily through disaster research and in-person disaster training programs for frontline healthcare workers and first responders. With the end of the pandemic, the Institute’s mission is pivoting to include Disaster-Readiness for animal welfare organizations and technological solutions to the looming climate disaster.
