USThumbtack increased my business Overall Thumbtack has helped increase my business tremendously. By advertising in Nextdoor my business is put in front customers I may not reach. The lead fee is fair. The only issue to watch out for is their travel area. Sometimes they charge for leads outside of your travel area with no refund. A little frustrating especially when you are a small business. But overall I love the Thumbtack platform

USTerrible place for a pro to advertise, don't do it If you are a pro, do NOT use this platform. The cost of leads is price gouging (look this up on Handyman Startup). There is also no transparency with the cost of leads. Pros are charged high fees for leads even when a job does not result in work or when the potential customer's budget is unrealistically low compared to the scope of work. This situation is exacerbated by a pricing scheme that rarely, if ever, aligns with the potential value of the job (you will find posts on this topic in the Thumbtack Community website). The refund policy and customer service is abysmal. The lack of refunds for low-quality leads, where customers may not be ready to proceed with actual work, only exacerbates dissatisfaction (see posts on the Thumbtack Community). While CUSTOMERS like Thumbtack, it is NOT a good place for PROs, so PROS STAY AWAY.
