BuildZoom is good at finding dependable licensed contractors with a great reputation and track record, but I wouldn't recommend paying extra for the premium services! Update... The last thing I will add is that I'm sure I'm going to get a comment by BuildZoom on how this was my fault and how they did things right and kept my money. Be aware! Read the other negative reviews! A lot of people feel the same way, and BuildZoom just comes back with the same excuse after the same excuse. They should post the recordings of my weekly video calls with BuildZoom for all of you to see, but they won't. There are positive reviews on here, but be careful because once you pay them that large sum of money, you will never see it back no matter how horrible the service is!!! BuildZoom sounded great at the beginning. It's funny what a salesperson can do sometimes. However, my experience was anything but great! The beginning was good with the introduction to dependable licensed contractors with a great reputation and track record. One of these contractors I really liked and ended up working with him. BuildZoom set up these weekly calls and for a month plus, no progress! It was so disappointing to hear the same update week after week with BuildZoom still having the same action items. I was so frustrated as I paid a decent amount of money to work with them and in my opinion they were causing too many delays, were extremely disorganized and really wasting my time to be on these calls. The contractor I wanted to work with backed out as another job came up because the process was taking too long. I informed BuildZoom that we were no longer moving forward with this project scope and were not interested in working with them anymore. They were unwilling to refund any of my money for my concerns and displeasure and my wife and I had to lose out on about $5,000 for a service that was never provided! A couple of months later my wife and I decided to revisit, but with a different scope of work as we wanted to figure out our needs vs wants to bring down the costs. I called the contractor back that I liked and said that I'm not working with BuildZoom anymore, not moving forward with the original scope, but have a new scope of work. We came to an agreement and finally the project was completed. After the project was completed, BuildZoom reached out to the contractor for a fee even though it wasn't the original scope, and I hired him personally on a different project. How did BuildZoom find out? They did some digging to see that a permit was pulled. Not only did I lose $5,000, they went after my contractor for a fee on a different scope of work after I stopped working with them. I did try to express my displeasure again in hopes to get some of the $5,000 refunded, but they weren't willing to work with me at all. I wasn't asking for the whole thing as if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have met that contractor.

Worth it! These guys found 5 contractors to bid my project and most of them were more cost effective than the 2 quotes I already had. Even with their fee, I saved money. I also got a high-quality forever addition with a contractor that I love. This was such a great service.

Wanted to leave my contractor a review… Wanted to leave my contractor a review on various sites. BuildZoom seems to focus on such reviews for construction projects, so this was a logical choice. BZ had the right amount of checks and balances that assured me their reviews were legit—I'll probably look for local contractor reviews here in the future.

Buildzoom represents dishonest contractors This company represents a contractor who is not reputable. The contractor they represent who is the owner of EG Enterprises out of Staten Island has been using my private home address without permission or authority to do so. I have notified Buildzoom about this contractors illegal practices because they are representing him. My private home address is all over their website and after numerous email’s explaining the situation, they have not done anything about it. If they are representing this one contractor who is scamming, how many more shady businesses are they saying are reputable when they are not? I just wanted my private address taken off their site but no response from them. This contractor rented an apartment from me over three 3 years ago and has used my address illegally since. He has been reported to numerous agencies and I wanted Buildzoom to remove my address that has nothing to do with his business off their site. I do not want an association with this business, especially my home address! I still receive violations for his business to my address as well. I would be careful using this site for any of your projects as they represent dishonest people.
