About WGU - Western Governors University

Here at WGU, we believe that talent is universal—even if opportunity isn't. Higher education is the best way to bridge that gap, but traditional higher ed wasn't built for the realities facing many of today's students. So we created a university focused on expanding access to education around the country. We've innovated with students in mind, giving them the flexibility and freedom they need to succeed in today's workplace.

WGU Mentorship I was once told that the path up the mountain is not the difficult part, but the pebbles in your shoes that will discourage us from continuing. Micheal Crouch, my mentor, encouraged me by sharing his life journey to getting his degree. It inspired me to keep moving forward. Thanks to the excellent mentorship at WGU, I was able to complete my degree.

WGU Masters in Business Management… WGU Masters in Business Management program was great. Self paced curriculum with as much or as little instructor help as needed.

Do not trust everything mentors and advisors tell you My whole educational career got drastically changed because staff at WGU cannot give out consistent information and that affects you and your education. I kept getting inconsistent information when I was about to start my student teaching. It made me miss the deadline and then was asked to take an 8 month term break when I could only take 6 months. Nobody could help, nobody knew the correct information and had to ask others and never got back to me. I was forced to essentially drop out and only get my bachelors in education rather than with my license like I’d like to. My whole goals got ruined thanks to WGU staff. Would either not recommend or tell students to be EXTRA vigilant about the information they’re given.

I loved my time at WGU I loved my time at WGU! Although it is an online degree, I had so much support from professors, my mentor, and even other students. The materials are great and easy to understand and the system works really well.

An unforgettable experience I loved my experience with WGU more than any other post-graduate experience I could have possibly had anywhere else. The courses were well-organized and diverse in their layout, so getting bored with looking at the same format over and over was pretty impossible. The Course Instructors were largely very helpful and responsive, and never made me feel like I asked a dumb question even if the answer was simple. Dr. Brian Iannucci even complimented me on my parenting skills for exposing my girls to Star Wars! The two biggest highlights though had to be getting nominated for the National Society of Leadership and Success. Hard work, persistence, and passion truly pay off if you combine them right! Second, my program mentors Zach Waitrovich and Amy Mullins were my ultimate cheerleaders throughout my entire experience, but also took me to task when I underperformed or didn’t hold myself accountable when I didn’t maximize the potential they knew I had. Finally, while paying back student loans will always be stressful, WGU allowed me to graduate with far less than the national average! I’m so grateful for my experience and for everything that the University taught me about myself that I didn’t know I had in me!
