In the us if you don't have a car is impossible to move and there's no requirement for the family to give it to you. One weekend a month and one day a week is so little time to do things. It's a good experience but you depend so so much on the extras that a family can give you and it feels all the time that you have to be super thankful or you'll get worse treatment. So, to sum up, i think you should regulate the price and the schedule to make it fair for everyone.

Don't recommend APIA is a company that sells very well and seems to help host families a lot, but on the au pair side, they are negligent. How is it possible that you have a person *working* in your house, taking care of 3 and 4 children simultaneously for 4.35 dollars an hour? This is not a cultural exchange program, it is slavery. It is not worthy for a person to work so much for so little. They justify it by saying that we receive food and a place to live: APIA does not ensure that the conditions inside the host's homes are decent. Au Pairs ended up with physical and mental health issues. I do not recommend APIA or the au pair program in general.

I was looking for a cultural program, that would give me the opportunity to travel, learn about new ways of thinking and improve my level of English. I came across several agencies, but what made the difference was certainly the service and how we were followed during the entire experience. Thanks to Silvia for her professionalism and sweetness. If you choose a good agency and a good family with the same values, you could have an amazing experience that won’t forget.

I barely recieved any help if needed I barely recieved any help if needed. My first community counselor didn't really care about my issue with my host family and told me to solve it myself. When I flew to my 1st and 2nd host family I got a flight including a seat. On my way to my home country I suddenly got told they don't book seats for you. Some workers respond to emails late and rarely care about your issue. I had an issue with my flight back and recieved an email asking if I still need help when I was already back in my home country and solved it myself.

10/10 would recommend I came to the U.S. in the middle of the pandemic and Au Pair in America always helped me and supported me with all the documents I needed for my visa. When I came to the U.S., I was with three families in three different states, had one rematch, and always felt like APiA supported me and had my back. Especially my last counselor in Nashville, TN was so great! She was always there for us Au Pairs, planned all those great and fun meetings and always helped us. The communication between her, the AuPairs and the families was great and she put so much effort into her work! I am more than happy with Au Pair in America and would always chose them again! 10/10 would recommend!
