About PowerBlock

PowerBlock, Inc. was founded in 1991 by specialty fitness equipment designers who became friends while designing equipment for several companies including Parabody and Cybex. While searching for specific needs in the fitness industry, they were drawn to the large amounts of dumbbells they would encounter in the specialty fitness stores they visited. There had to be a better way of providing fitness enthusiasts with the performance advantage of hand weights without the space and restrictions of old fashioned racks and dumbbells. It was here the idea for PowerBlock was born. After two years of extensive testing, PowerBlock began sales of the newly coined "selectorized dumbbell". Since then, PowerBlock has continued to be the leader in the fitness industry as we constantly strive to out do ourselves in the pursuit of excellence.

Great service Great service! I emailed them pictures of my damaged item, then was able to call in and talk to someone directly about my inquiry. They had my issue resolved within half an hour, for very little cost! I would give 6 stars if possible!

Great, but caveats Enjoying PowerBlocks very much. Caveats: 1. Not perfect for two very different people. Have to swap setup every time they are used. But, not a deal breaker. 2. Confusion possible between model that can adjust handle with removeable 2.5 lb. weights and those that do not have that option. 3. If you get model with adjustable weights in handle, must order collapsible stand directly from PowerBlock so stand stores handle weights when removed from handle. As stated earlier, enjoying our PowerBlocks.

Purchased the Sport EXP Stage 1 along … Purchased the Sport EXP Stage 1 along with the sheet metal stand and power bench. I rate the dumbbells at 5 stars, excellent quality. I rate the sheet metal stand at 4 stars, has more flex than it should for the cost. Finally, I rate the power bench at 4 stars, solidly made however the design allows a bit of wobble side to side when lifting on it, both the seat and the back rest. Also, the design of the feet contribute to the wobbliness when used on carpet. Overall, very usuable and I recommend the system, very compact footprint and a lot of work can be done very quickly with this system.

My college has recently implemented… My college has recently implemented these for team lifting and they are very awkward and hard to deal with, while they do save space they make lifts which were once easy more difficult because of the strange block shape. Furthermore, the options for weight selections are very strange starting at 12.5 and adding weight on from there meaning we are left with options such as 67.5 and that makes selecting weight very difficult.
