Informative Course I really enjoyed Norton's class. I learned so much in 9 days and also had a great time doing it. I do have one thing to say, however. Our class had 16 participants to one instructor. We ran into many roadblocks with this issue during the first 4 days. We were learning so much initially this was great for the theoretical lymphedema education but for the hands on bandaging it did not work out well. We ended up going late a couple of days to get in the one on one reviews that we needed. I would say that for the lab portion the class should be limited to 10 students or two instructors need to be present. Otherwise the course was great with presentations by bandaging providers and such. Everyone was very welcoming and there was no awkwardness with practicing treatment methods.

Good class but bad organization of information! The class being 9 days straight was expected BUT the curriculum being taught by your instructors did not match the information given to us. We found ourselves having to take picture of slides and writing down almost full paragraphs because we could not find the information in our copy of the PowerPoints. The instructors were wonderful and the location was great. I just wish the organization of the material was better considering we spent $3000 for the course not including hotel and flights. This must be changed for future classes!

Norton School The second, and primary instructor, saved the day! She was superb! With her instruction, I felt like I knew what I was doing by the end of the course. Now, after having some experience with actual patients, I feel like I am sufficiently equipped to perform good care. The first instructor was very poor. She seemed overwhelmed and would contradict herself frequently, creating an environment of mistrust. I also didn't like the location of the class. It was in a congested area of the city and parking was difficult. Our room was in the basement of a hotel with no windows and uncomfortable chairs. Time was scheduled to learn from a live lymphedema patient, but the opportunity did not arise. Looking back, it would have been a good experience to actually see someone with lymphedema other than in a picture. Overall, I felt like I was well-prepared.

Learned very much but not prepared for clinic I enjoyed the course and learned a great deal. The instructors were good teachers! I was dissappointed that we did not do more with case studies as a group ( we were tested individually yet I would have loved to hear discussion about all the different cases. I felt that i had basic skills for "the ideal " lymhedema patient yet did not have good expertise with managing the complicated patient and knowing alternatives. I was expecting to have real patients to practice wrapping and to see a variety of shapes/ variations of limbs. I appreciated the lab time to truly develop our MLD skills. More case studies would helpfull to learn and apply knowledge w guidance of experienced teachers. Thank you.

Comprehensive The Norton School CDT Course covered a broad range of topics in Lymphedema and had dynamic instructors. They provided adequate supplies for learning and practicing. The course is jampacked with lots of information.
