I wanted a back up camera in my 2009… I wanted a back up camera in my 2009 BMW 128i convertible. There are many units on the market, but I didn't want to modify my dashboard to install one. This monitor/back up camera was perfect for my needs. My son removed my car seats and fed the wiring from the front to the back. The camera is nearly invisible as it's installed on the Trunk Lid Lock Release Push Button Handle (for which he needed to drill a small hole.) The screen is attached to my dashboard with the included sticky patch. (I didn't want a hole drilled there.) installation took about 4 hours including putting seats back (and me taking advantage of the situation to shampoo the rugs and vacuum every square inch of interior and trunk). I've used the monitor/camera for nearly 3 months and it works perfectly every time. The front and back cameras are clear and sharp. I use Google Maps with Spotify and voice commands to control the unit, including sending dedicated text messages.

I am so happy with my purchase I am so happy with my purchase. I finally have wireless CarPlay in my car! In short, the mounting experience was 4/5 due to the way Chevy designed the Camaro dashboard with an odd angle. I ended up mounting using the suction cup to my windshield and purchased some velcro strips and attached those at the bottom of the unit so it does not fall or move and it has done a great job.

BIG LET DOWN AND FAILURE I was stoked to buy this and had high hopes it would be amazing. Forget customer support. No response to my emails. Imagine they wait out the 14 day warranty so you are stuck with it. Big let down and NO help from support. It constantly disconnects from Bluetooth. The software is not smooth and fluid like on your phone. The biggest problem!! The audio through your car speakers sounds horrible. Nothing but feedback and static, can’t enjoy any music. Tried the Aux cable and Bluetooth, FM transmitter. Either way nothing but horrible noise that can be heard through the music. Doesn’t matter Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music all get the same results. And yes I have have other Bluetooth FM transmitters that do not do this, they just don’t have a screen.

Drop shipping scam 99% sure this is a drop shipping scam. (The definition: A drop shipping scam is performed using a cheap and easily marketable product, creating advertisements that embellish the quality and capabilities of the product, and then selling the product through online stores at an inflated price.) There are TONS of units that are exactly the same as the CarPlayBox, that are much cheaper (Like, $50 to $100 cheaper) on Amazon (Search PODOFO, XGODY etc) and you'll see they have the same photos and models as CarPlayBox. Just search their product images via Google lens and you'll see the wealth of options. Basically they're a middleman, charging you extra via having a semi-fancy website. I'm annoyed I fell for it, frankly. The product is fine, but not worth what I paid. If you want to return it, you'll have to do so directly to some dodgy address in China, so good luck with that. Shipping took forever, conveniently long enough that the return window had expired. What a coincidence.

We bought two of them and they are… We bought two of them and they are fantastic! They work BRILLIANTLY. We put them in a 2011 Mazda 3 and 2014 Acura ILX. They took a while to hook up because we hid wires as such. My friend did both cars and it took about seven total hours. Added pics of the finished product and some work during the process. That said, worked immediately out of the box. Newest firmware installed with Bluetooth, etc. Very professional box and presentation of the head unit. Through AUX we definitely noticed a slight hiss and did not get very loud. Through Bluetooth though - it worked so good it's not even funny. Sounded Amazing. CarPlay Box worked perfectly, dash and back up cams were flawless. Super snappy, easy to operate, voice "Hey, Siri" worked perfectly. Truly wireless CarPlay and the extra USB charging port in the charger was an amazing touch. Zero lag, zero issue. Love this thing!
