Required Minimum Distribution Tool This is an excellent little piece of software. I use in extensively in my practice, and it has become indispensable. We have a number of clients who need to take RMD's and many who have inherited IRA's where the RMD calculation is more difficult. The software is quite accurate, easy to use, and the printout really helps my clients to understand what needs to be distributed to them and why. It is a great tool!

If your clients dislike taxes on their IRA's. Read this! Most owners know they must pay taxes on their IRA beginning around age 70. But ask them if the know that income taxes need to be paid after their death (single person) or after the last spouse's death (a couple) and you get all kind of responses. Most of which are "I did not know that taxes are due." Here is away to show parents that upon their death they can have the option of letting their kids take "lump sum" or to choose when to have the income tax occur.
