I placed quite a large order recently… I placed quite a large order recently and I received the items quickly. They were packaged with care and were in perfect condition. The individual pieces were stunning in person! For all framed pieces, they are solid and heavy and they can be quickly hung on the wall. All but two of the prints have color wrapped around the sides and I love that. There are no visible edges and it's very pleasing! The back has Karen's logo and the title of the piece in small print - and if I ever want to order more, the website info is there too! Kauai and Bougainvillea 8x10 - if you have been to Kauai, and I have many times, you can't miss seeing the chickens and roosters. This rooster is glorious in his colorful plumage and the lighting evokes an early morning jaunt thru the blooming bougainvillea. Healing Retreat 9x12- this one is just magical. The way the light is captured makes you imagine the sun is just peaking over the ridge of the mountain down on to the stream and waterfall. It immediately takes me to the back roads and hidden houses on the north shore. Big Island Getaway 9x12- I'm not sure this is a painting! It seems to move - the tropical breeze lightly moving the palm fronds. I can hear and see the ocean crashing up the beach. I can feel the hot sun on my skin. It transports me instantly to Hawaii! Electric Duo 9x12 - These two hibiscus flowers boldly take center stage in a way that you don't even notice anything else. The detail of the coloring and shading is nuanced. If I put this outside, I'm sure bees would come land on them! Secret Sanctuary 8x10 - this is another painting that transports you immediately to Hawaii. The tropical fish and the colors of the coral are so vibrant. Karen is a master at getting the light just right as it travels through the water and highlights portions of the reef. The honu is living his best life gliding through the warm ocean. Dolphin Dance 8x10 - oh the depth of the blues and light touches of green! I really feel like I'm swimming in deep ocean water with frolicking dolphins. The way the light bounces and dances on the surface and off of the dolphins is masterful. It's a very meditative yet energetic piece! Always Together 10x20- this large and luxurious piece makes me so happy! I have heard it said that if you have seen one sunset, you have seen them all and this piece proves that statement wrong. The colors - the oranges and deep reds and lavenders and oh my! So bright and vibrant and warm and relaxing all at the same time. I need a mai tai now and just by gazing at this one, I'm instantly in Hawaii and relaxing. This is one to cherish for a lifetime. All the paintings are! On to the cards: I ordered a mixed batch of cards and they are on a thick glossy card stock and are so lovely I almost want to just frame them in tiny frames! The colors are exquisite. My most favorite card is "Grounded" - a perfect snapshot of quintessential Kauai.

Before you buy...read, then buy a LOT :-) This one is long, folks! Apologies in advance, but there are a few things worth covering about the products I have purchased from the Whitworth Gallery! I have several items from Karen's collection: Dino boots; plumeria boots; plumeria bag; plumeria makeup bag; plumeria dress; plumeria child's dress; plumeria black soled sneakers; etc. (I have a thing for plumeria - got married on Maui, so...) My major complaint is that I don't have more! ;-) All of the vendors that the Whitworth Gallery has chosen to work with are an amazing canvas for Karen's talent! They were just as discerning with that selection as Karen is about every color she uses and brush stroke her brushes kiss the canvas with. The clothes: The child's dress has POCKETS! The women's dress is a light, seemingly wrinkle-free fabric that is cut well to drape beautifully on the body. I'm a plus sized person and it even looks flattering on me! The shoes and boots are a great quality. I live in a heavily wooded area and cannot tell you how much I appreciate having black soled shoes! They look good no matter how many walks I take. The boots are like slippers! I thought I wouldn't like the lined boots - SO WRONG. They form to my feet and help with keeping them warm - not hot - and cushioned. The first day I wore the sneakers to "break-in," I forgot to take them off for the entire day! Yes, THAT comfortable. <3 I have put my purse/bag and makeup bag through the ringer with small trips this year, and they still look brand-new! All of that, paired with the gorgeous art of Karen Whitworth, makes every purchase a wise decision. You will get a product that will last, and take what you throw at it, and you will look AMAZING while you do what you do!
