GBHCP NOT a Patient Advocate -The Worst I found out my PC was using HCP when I went to see a specialist he sent me to 3 X and they declined the appointment when I showed up because they said "my insurance has not cleared the coverage yet". I found out it was NOT BCBS which didn't provide the OK but HCP! Every time I seek care outside of my PCP, HCP has been preventing me from receiving the urgent care I desperately need. I did not ask for them to get involved in my health needs, I never signed any documentation , I never spoke to anyone. They may help my PCP but they DO NOTHING for me but prevent me from getting the urgent care I need. I don't know what kind of scam this is , but this is the worst organization I have ever had to deal it. BCBS will always tell me they approve of the procedures I need when I talk to them, but when I get the providers of these approved services, I am denied or turned away because I am told HCP has not approved the procedure or they do NOT want to deal with HCP. I am leaving my PCP to get out from under their thumb and would advise anyone who has to deal with them to change their PCP and find one that does not use an IPA like HCP. They are a nightmare!!!!!!! Useless and ineffective.
