USTop-Notch Counselor I can’t say enough wonderful things about Tory Krone of Proactive Psychotherapy!! My daughter, C, has been working with Tory since 2015 for help with an eating disorder and mood disorder. C met with many counselors over the course of her treatment, but Tory was the only one who was able to truly connect with her. C completely trusts and respects her, even though Tory won’t hesitate to call her out on negative behaviors and/or attitudes and challenge her as necessary. Tory also recognizes when she needs to encourage C to confide in her loved ones for support, which as a mom, I truly appreciate. It’s worthwhile to note that Tory was the only one able to help C identify a traumatic experience from her past that was held in secrecy by C for many years and had undoubtedly contributed to C’s ongoing issues. She helped C turn to her family for support, which ended up being a healing experience for all of us. And her ongoing efforts to keep the lines of communication open between C and her family have been instrumental in our participation in C’s recovery. Although C is no longer in the Chicago area, she continues to work with Tory via Skype on a weekly basis, and occasionally (with C’s permission), Tory will conduct a family session. So, if you’re looking for someone who is caring with a unique ability to relate to young women, someone who will encourage communication and the use of positive support systems, someone who is compassionate, yet not a pushover, someone who is well-versed in DBT and ACT… then Tory is the one!

USTori is an expert in her field My honest review of Tori is that she really is fantastic. Not only is she truly an expert in her field, but she is loving and non judgmental. I see her with help for eating disorders, anxiety and depression. These are real life things. Her purpose is to help people like me get better. But, not only get better....live better and be happy. She uses mindfulness techniques and self compassion and acceptance commitment therapy. For anyone who struggles, call Tori. I am so glad I did.
