The A1C test we used proved extremely helpful to determine if patients were under optimal control, to determine if a new patient with a single high blood sugar actually had diabetes, to consider PCOS in obese females with menstrual irregularities, and to determine when or if to increase or change the medications on a patient with Type 2 diabetes. Without the A1C test, our treatment would have been much less effective.
