Nice guy but a part time by the book instructor… 4 people were 15 min late so we started late and the instructor was not experienced so was not helpful unless you were doing it by the book. He was very nice and I didn’t mind that we waited but the explanation was not clear and he had an accent was a IT guy from Princeton who did it part time and made you think you can be more creative only to find out that when you asked about a certain design and how to achieve it thinking he can help you . The answer was I don’t really know unless you follow the pattern in the given script. Other people had time to watch the videos prior to coming or they had experience. Also , I liked the lamp so i upgraded to the lamp from the candlestick and gifted the the globe in case it was more complicated. It turns out you can choose to do a non Halloween theme or colors so I upgraded as I really wanted a lamp. He did have extras which he said I could pay for at the end. Only to find out they don’t have change and don’t have a credit card device on his cell phone so only can do Venmo. My phone died so fortunately my other relative was there that had a phone and I just paid her back and she did the Venmo. My mother needed help and we all had glue on our hands as tweezers were useless. Not wet wipes and the sink in the bathroom got clogged from people washing their hands so you could no longer run the water. Also, I thought it was a little hard to find. It eas a pop up at an event place that was so small called Align education and looked like a daycare sign. I would have done the large glove for my 80 yo mother who needed help and stuck to the candle holder because it was less time consuming and we were new. Had the instructor really knew enough instead of make you think you can do a Van Gougth starry night if I was creative and he could explain how to do it. I chose my own thinking it was easier because I’m generally a creative person with other creative talents. I regretted my decision as the tiile size and colors were limited and I kept having to revise my decision to make it more simple because I wanted to be creative but he could only tell you what he was trained to do and I felt rushed to make it look good because there was another class at 6:;30pm We starts at 3:15-3:200pm if he said in the first place you should stick to the design because that’s all I know. People misunderstood him unless they pre watched the how to videos or had f do one it before. He was very nice and didn’t really push us out but I would not have bought the lamp globe and stuck to only the mosaic thinking my 80 yo Grandma and my 14 yo niece who needed constant advice and help and because of time pressure I had to tell him to just finish my moms present and fix it as I was too busy fixing my lamp globe so it wouldn’t turn out terrible for $79 . We both upgraded our lamps. So it was $60 extra. Total $160 which I would have just gone alone before I decided it was a relaxing creative project with tea and Turkish delimited which we didn’t even relaxing drink because my mom in law wanted sweetener and she has memory issues and I now felt rushed fixing my own lamp when I wanted hers to look nice for s birthday gift. My 24 yr old niece wanted to be a little creative but no real advice outside the box. He also had no way to contact the 2 people from Jersey to see if they were lost, couldn’t find the place. My niece and her mom were also late but I called and explained where it was and what to look for to find the building. It was behind a bowling alley and spa in the back but I felt like I was going away from 2nd St Pike in Southampton only to circle around the entire road to get you into the parking lot if you were coming in from one direction. There is also a 111 N 2nd St Pike, Southampton which is also a different place. I only gave it a decent review as Iove the projects and want to try them all but you need to be the instructor to be clear if you’re a first timer doing that kind of project clearly say that he is not experienced if you don’t know what to do and have not studied it on you tube. I am highly creative but never took this mosaic globe. I was going to go myself for relaxing creative project but it said must be 8 yrs old so I figure a 14 year old and.an 89 yo with memory problems that I could assist or ask him for creative help. Or questions. I soon realized we started late, with the accent it was not really clearly explained that if it’s your first time it might not look good as you expected if you go out of the box. Meanwhile you think it’s easier than you think so you buy a bigger globe only to find out you’ve bitten off more than you can chew and you should have both done a candle stick or a companion project which seemed like for a mom and child. I didn’t want my mother in law to feel like a child and this selected to buy a candle holder so I can do the bigger globe. I liked the guy and he tried his best and was trying to help but it was short of time. PS.Need to be realistic if you have a new guy teaching.
