Hunter Course I personally found many of the sections educational been a novice to hunting. One omission, in my opinion, is a section on the use of air powered weapons since a PAL is required for high-powered air rifles which can be used for small game and varmint hunting.

More info on NS small game crossbow regulations would be good There were some minor problems getting registered for the course on the Nova Scotia site. The course had no information about small game hunting, only deer hunting. Having a course progress bar would be useful or at lease knowing how many lessons there were would be useful. More information on current Nova Scotia laws with crossbow hunting and shooting would be useful.

The people who rated this course a five… The people who rated this course a five are not looking at the big picture. Children, adults with learning disabilities and bilingual people will have an extremely difficult time interpreting questions and supplying answers on the final exam. It actually deters people from getting their license with its extremely broad and expansive material. They say it is geared to someone with a sixth grade education. I find that highly unlikely. This is not the military where you have to know specifics on every topic relating to hunting , first aid and ethics. I was wondering why I never saw any hunters during deer season. Well, now I know. This test defeats the purpose of getting more young people involved in hunting.

The timer is extremely annoying the timer in between the slides are extremely annoying adding so much additional time to finish the course. this is enough for me to not recommend this course to anyone and to just tell them to do the in-person training as it would save so much more time.

It's hard to offer a thorough training… It's hard to offer a thorough training online, but this course does the best job possible. I knew a lot about firearms going in, but not much about hunting, and I learned a LOT. Highly recommend if an in-person class isn't an option for you.
