I use the Rose markets with permanent marker pens then coat with clear fingernail polish . This makes them readable in the northern states a long time. You will not be wasting your money.

Perfect! I use the Rose Style labels and galvanized wire. They work perfectly and not only do the labels help garden visitors they also help me remember the names of plants. Instead of writing on the label (I have horrible penmanship) I use a Brother PT - H100 Label Maker with black ink and clear tape. They work nicely and I've had a number of them out all year long over the past few years and they are still as readable as the day that I put them on.
