Sadly the history of these scented beauties is not well documented. This is why we intend to create a new history by bringing the most beautiful garden roses to the market. As Rhea Worrell mentions in her article: "Centifolia: The Hundred-Petalled Rose", The blooms of Rosa centifolia, the Cabbage Rose, are the largest and fullest of any rose. Developed by Dutch breeders in the 1600 to 1800's from a clutch of other rose strains, the Centifolias possess a beautiful fragrance and an elegant, but easy-going manner, a kind of noblesse oblige." "Centifolia" means: "A fragrant species of rose having large numbers of petals". "Cent" actually means One Hundred... So this means that the "Centifolia Rose" has One hundred petals... As it also has a lovely fragrance and it is one of its most fascinating features, we decided to names our roses "Scentifolia". You get the idea: Scent = Fragrance Cent = 100 petals However, we understand that "Scentifolia" can be a difficult name to memorize, write and even pronounce...
