Make sure that you have a binding quote They did an estimate and a non-binding quote. They were in Maryland and I was in SC. I told them that there were two 10X10 storage units that were uniformly full to 7' high. They made a low bid to get the job and then held my goods hostage until I paid about 35% more than the price they quoted. They also delivered late, drove on my irrigation system, and basically dumped everything in the garage. I have moved several times and this was my first bad experience. I can not recommend them.

DC to Brooklyn — Great job! We used Helix Transfer and Storage for our move from DC to New York City and it was a great experience. Management was very responsive to our inquiries leading up to the move, and on the move days the movers (Jose, Manny, Eliot, and Marco) were quick, careful and professional! Jose was the foreman and did a great job coordinating the move, even with some unorthodox components (e.g., loading belongings from both an apartment and a U-Haul truck), difficult New York roads and traffic, and a delay on our end that resulted in the move crew reaching our destination before we did. Overall, I would use Helix again and I would highly recommend them.

Helix Movers are #1! Eric and his crew were very professional and did a great job of being careful to not get my new carpet dirty by removing their shoes upon my request. I really appreciate their great service! Most of all they were quick and courteous!

MD to Norfolk The Helix teams did a fantastic job packing, wrapping, protecting, loading and delivering our furniture and other household items to Norfolk. They were on time, professional, courteous, and mindful of our requests. They did a thorough job of walking through our homes to make sure they understood what they needed to do, to do it right. I would highly recommend Helix.

Pros: good movers Cons; office job time underestimate Just wanted to say big thanks to Daniel and Fernando for a professional moving service. Furniture and pre-packed boxes were unassembled/assembled, wrapped/unwrapped and carefully moved to our new house in the specified rooms. They worked non stop and moved fast. I would recommend using these two guys for your move from Helix. They would have gotten a 5 stars review from me. I gave 4 stars because the job duration wasn't on-point and we paid more than expected. It was humanly impossible to move faster than these guys. We assume it was their office moving job time underestimate. We are happy the move is over and was done well, but didn't appreciate paying more than we expected.
