Charged 60% over the quote Charged 60% over the quote. Know that if you engage with these people, that you are writing a blank check. I am not so mad about the money though as the experience. They sent us 3 movers, 2 of which were fully imcompenent. One was even wearing clothes like he was headed out to the club. We did a very thorough assesment with Carol, who quoted us for 700 ft and 4000 lbs, roughly. Those numbers were confirmed on the final bill so the fact that this move took nearly 5 hours to put in the van is insane. Nothing changed from what Carol and I discussed. We had everything organized, packed and ready to go. However when the movers arrived (15 minutes late), they seemed fully unaware of what they were supposed to do, that there were stairs, etc.. It was as though not so much as a memo of the details were given to them. They get started and it was going ok at first, then 3 hours had passed, then 4! During this time I am noticing that 1 of the movers is taking extraordinary amounts of time to wrap furniture. 30+ minutes to wrap an accent chair in a blanket. The guy in street clothes is spending all kinds of time trying to disassemble a particle board shoe rack. It was absurd. Our animals were locked up and stressed, we were stressed. At about 4.5 hours, the boss shows up and gets another crew to start helping. Mind you we did not reach out to him, he just showed up. Great, as the second crew was far more competent and finished everything in about 30 minutes. He tells us he is gonna give us the extra help- no charge. But had he sent competent movers for the getgo, we would have already arrived at the new location. This was hours wasted. Even the neighbors were commenting that they were shocked at how long it took. It was obvious that he knew he sent us lousy help and had to fix it. It wasn't a favor at all. Getting to the new place was ok, save for a few broken items and partially disassmbled pieces from things that should have never been taken apart to begin with. Then the final bill came for a $1000 bucks over the quote. It was a 60% markup. It is reasonable to assume that the cost would come out higher (rule of thumb on this is in the ballpark of 20% at the high end) but 60%?? That's unreasonable and unethical. Of course, I asked that the boss reach out to me. He did not. 2 days later, I emailed explaining the issues we had and asked for a response. Nothing. 2 days later, I wrote back explaining that if I did not hear back, I would need to contact the cc company, and file a report with the BBB and leave reviews. His response came 2 days later (a full week after I asked for him to contact me) and it was completely unhinged. He reasoned that it was raining and that caused delays. It was not, on the contrary, the sun was shining. He accused me of trying to extort him and tried to intimidate me by saying he was going to file a police report. Have at it, buddy. His response to my requests here- "Hello Tammy. Airan Arnoni here. I'm the owner, as you can see by the name. What is that? What do you mean by "giving me my money back?" You received a service in exchange for money, so this money does not belong to you anymore. Or did someone forcibly take your money? Please see attached a screenshot of your estimate. Also, I'm sending attached the entire document. Please read it and let me know If anything is missing about the charges. Note it is highlighted in yellow in the original document! It's my first time seeing your email as the office escalated. What money back are you talking about? We are a profitable business, and I have not started any philanthropic business. Did someone steal money from your wallet? Is this a kind of extortion? Because it sounds like that to me! We sent you 4 Movers on a stormy day without any charge, and they spent almost 2 hrs there. So, I like to play adult, and I want to be clear with people. The contract you signed before making the deposit clearly stated that the pricing would be based on an hourly charge, not a fixed amount. Also, you had to control to call off the service! On the day of the move, the weather was stormy; we both know that the movers said they even put extra raincoats on top of the plastic wrapping. Of course, a day like that impacts the time the job is performed. Regarding your request for a refund and the threats of social media posts, I see this as an attempt at extortion. Just as you have the right to do it, I also reserve the right to file a police report if necessary. We sent four extra movers who worked an hour and a half without any additional charge for you but not for the business. Or: I had to pay them to help you. We are always willing to resolve any issues, but we don't deal with threats. What I'm writing here I can write anywhere. Wishing you a great weekend and hope you can enjoy your new home and neighborhood. Regards, Airan Arnoni. "
