USAA Home Insurance and our small fire led to unecessary disposal of undamaged belongings: When we had a fire in one of our small, upstairs bedrooms of our townhouse, our USAA insurance jumped into action very quickly. However, the company they contracted to come in and remover damaged belongings, and box up and put into storage our undamaged items was less than adequate. The company came in and literally threw out 95% of our belongings, whether fire/smoke damaged or not. One of the employees confided to me that they were paid by the “weight” of damages that they disposed of, meaning throw out all our belongings claiming them to be fire/smoke damage, yielded them a higher paycheck from USAA. This did give us a higher reimbursement for our destroyed items, but I just feel USAA is clearly being taken advantage of, and what that company is doing constitutes Insurance Fraud! For this reason, among others, I would never use or recommend USAA Home Insurance.

Easy and Automated Process USAA was quick to respond after my car accident. My car was towed to a storage facility and evaluated within 2 days. I was able to do everything online. A rental car was available for me the next day. The last thing I needed after my car was totaled by teenagers out for a joy ride was a difficult insurance experience. I was treated with respect and professionalism. I have been with USAA for 22 years. I have no complaints.
