Emerald Ghostwriting agreed to refund 1/8/24, never received… Update: Finally received 50% refund from Emerald Ghostwriting. After posting this review, Emerald Ghostwriting contacted me insisting the promised credit had been processed into my son's account. I had to send them a screenshot of his transactions (no account info) to prove there was nothing received from them. They then processed the refund and it was received yesterday. I appreciate Emerald Ghostwriting following thru on it's agreed refund. However, I still do not appreciate their sales tactics or the amount of time I had to spend to get this refund. I am leaving this review up so others can judge for themselves. I posted a poor review on this site in early Jan because Emerald Ghostwriting took advantage of my son's disability. They agreed to a 50% refund if I took the poor review down. After getting the 50% refund agreement in writing and I took the poor review down. It has been 2 weeks since the agreement, we sent an email asking about the refund and no response. No refund. Original review posted 1/4/24: Emerald Ghostwriting used high pressure sales tactics on my son with Autism. When my son indicated he wanted to think about it the salesperson used, The discount is today only (this discount was still on the website 2 days later) & asking him what they can do to make him trust them. They say they have a "Satisfaction Guarantee" and he told them he is not satisfied. He used all his monthly expenses money to pay for this service including $800 for an ISBN# which costs $125 on Amazon Publishing. Yesterday when I spoke to them it was indicated they would refund his $$. Today they said no refund. After discussing it for a time, they said partial refund 20-25%. I told them this is my son's $$ for monthly expenses for food and transportation. When asked for their tax id they said they do business under many DBA's (doing business as). Could not find the name Emerald Ghostwriting on State of California Sec of State business listings. If he gets a refund I may reevaluate whether this is an actual business or just a scam.
