Unethical Advertising I'm sure they're a great company. But it's pretty scummy to sell a book for $5 but oh by the way in the fine print you are also committing to another $16.99 charge next month. Where else in the world can someone sell you something for 4x the advertised price? Sorry, but that's just manipulative Regarding your reply - perhaps you could advertise it more clearly by moving it out of the small print, which occurs after creating an account, entering your shopping details, and entering your payment method? That might help customers see the actual price of their purchase. The price seems like an important thing to advertise, no?

They scam you and make it impossible to cancel This entire thing is a complete scam. They get you by offering a discounted book, but once you click it they force you into a membership you didn't agree to be a part of. When trying to cancel the membership, the cancel button only brings up a message reading : "As part of your $5 enrollment offer, you agreed to be renewed at least one time. You are currently scheduled to be renewed on January 26th, 2024 for $16.99 and 1 credit will be added to your account. You can use that credit to shop for one of our January selections. If you still want to cancel after trying another month of BOTM (though we hope you decide to stick around a while), you can do so by returning to this page." but it does not allow you to actually go forward with cancelling. When you contact any of the actual customer service representatives, they send a cancel link that just takes you to the exact same message. So, 1) they force you to sign up for a membership you don't want and 2) they don't allow you to cancel the membership you never wanted in the first place. Horribly dishonest and corrupt. Do not give them your time of day.

BOTM customer service/Levi, from North Carolina! I want to reach out and let everyone know about the experience I had with BOTM. I thought I had canceled due to being subscribed to many things. I love BOTM but felt I could go back when I could afford it. BOTM took money out of my account because I just PAUSED my subscription and it was time for them to reopen my account. I called BOTM and got ahold of a young man named Levi from North Carolina. He said he worked from home. He was soooo mannerly, considerate, and was just a joy talking to. He helped me right away, explaining step by step about what was going to happen next. I wish all customer service employees were like Levi. Levi rocked his job!
