Excellent Screenwriting Mentor Alex is professional, thorough, and brings a wealth of industry experience to his mentoring. I had him look over a script I'd had two others give coverage on, and he made things clearer than anyone else, going above and beyond in his feedback. As a mentor, he's there to help with questions, and also provides some excellent resources on his blog.

An outstanding screenwriter's mentor Several years ago I wrote a non-fiction book about my personal experience with a rare disease. Looking for a diversion and sense of purpose outside of my daily grind, I wondered if the book could be translated into film. After a good deal of evaluation, I chose to contact Dr Alex Ross: his resume speaks for itself. Initially I envisaged working with Alex to select a suitable screenwriter and oversee the process: I am an engineer with no prior experience in that world. To my surprise, Alex was more interested in developing my own potential as a screenwriter - my search for purpose became an order of magnitude more interesting. He knew I was starting from scratch and pointed me to key resources that I needed to absorb and understand first. He is very perceptive and knew immediately from my exchanges with him when I was on the right track or not; his mentoring style is extremely efficient. I am now at the point where writing begins. It is both exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. I will continue to engage Alex through to completion. I don't believe I could have made a better choice of mentor.
