They're another online tax return… They're another online tax return service that offers a "free" federal return and charges a lot for the state return. If you end up paying for the state return like I did, make sure you file early and check to make sure your return really is filed, mine wasn't and I had to go back and repeat the steps I'd taken the week before.

Stay clear I used an IRS " free file "programs for years and never had any problems. EzTaxReturn is absolutely the one I will never use again. This program adds thousands of "other earned income" all by itself. I have not earn any other earned income and not included any figures pretending to it while preparing my taxes using EzTaxReturn. As per company response "the program automatically calculates the amount to put on Line 1h". Since I missed this "addition" and filed the taxes already I have to go thru the troubles of amanding my tax returns otherwise I'm on hook for tax on thousands dollars worth of income that I had not earn. Save yourself time and aggravation and stay clear of EzTaxRetrun.

Terrible customer service Terrible customer service. I asked a question while filing out my return. It took 7 hours for a return message that said we cannot help. While waiting for their response I totally completed and filled my return with TurboTax. It figures that the IRS would promote this company. They are both incompetent losers

EZ charged almost $50 for what I thought would be free. EZ kept sending my e-mails that time was running out. I'd used them before. So, I decided to do the free filing. My situation is not very complicated (I make about $17K and about $15K form SocSec, plus a few hundred in interest; one of my employers is out-of-country and one sent a 1099NEC tax statement), but the "half hour" turned into 1.5 hours, and the "free"wound up costing almost $50! Maybe this was because I had them do the state tax as well. If so, this was not clearly indicated that this is where this fee came from. I only found out about the fee at the end of my 1.5 hrs on the last filing day, so I pretty much had to accept it. Some of the terminology was unclear, so I had to guess categories -- and sometimes go back when later material indicated that I had entered data in the wrong category. The company has an online help service that responds within 24 hours (I got an answer after 6-12 hours), but the answer did not directly address my simple question (which was asking what "previous year"or "last year" meant. The software had some minor glitches (in correcting, I was unable to change one item in a category, so I had to erase everything in that category and re-enter everything but the one item that was wrong because I had given the wrong answer because of the ambiguous wording). The software does do a lot of checking, i.e., it asks you to look at what is being submitted to give you the chance to check your work. The software also does a lot of clclulating a lot of äutomatic"stuff that would be tedious to do by hand.

Warning DO NOT USE EZTAXRETURN Warning DO NOT USE EZTAXRETURN Yes - it may be free, but that is the only good thing about it. I just tried their software because the 'free' service I used last year now wants to charge me $50 for the same tax return forms as the previous year. Here is what happened: -entered all our personal info, income, expenses etc. without any issues -Their 'Federal Bottom Line' page indicated a tax due over $1200 more than what it should have been! - clicked on the 'why' beside that incorrect number and it brought up the Qualified Dividends and Capital Gains worksheet which shows your total tax due on line 25. The number there was correct, but the software puts in a number that was over $1200 more than the number from the worksheet. This was flat out wrong and I used 2 other services to confirm that it was wrong. So, you get to file for free, but this inferior software will cost you hundreds if not thousand in tax due. In my case over $1100 Also, their software compute the overage we had through the Healthcare marketplace -guessing this would be a HUGE red flag to set you up for a potential audit.
