Home purchase during pandemic Perhaps our situation was a little unique in that it occurred during the COVED-19 pandemic, we have not had a mortgage in 15 years, and have not gone through the process of obtaining a mortgage and purchasing a home in 28 years. We are also retired with a pension and social security being our sources of income. Our intent was to secure a short term mortgage with the option of refinancing after selling our home, and minimizing the impact of purchasing a home to our savings. One of the many new concepts Jesse introduced was Recasting a loan, which could prove to be extremely beneficial. Jesse Vollmer did a wonderful job of educating us, Making us aware of options, enabling us to make an offer to purchase a home, coaching us through the process, and in securing a loan. Due to the pandemic, this was achieved without actually meeting Jessie.
