STEPS TO AVOID GETTING SCAMMED MY EXPERIENCE To start off, I read about solid gigs through a blog listing non marketplace ways to freelance. Everything about it sounded great, especially the gigs being “tailored” to the freelancer. I was hoping for 90% success/accuracy rate for the specific gigs selected for me from my “assigned” assistant. Unlike marketplace platforms that have detailed portfolio/profile set ups, solid gigs has a 3minute long survey styled questionnaire. There is no way a couple of closed ended questions can truly help tailor the gigs to the freelancer, but wait! There IS a comment box where you can specify what you are looking for, etc. and they do promise above the box that they read it. As many have said in their reviews, and as I began above, there is no true way with their set up to find quality gigs for the freelancer. My not so pleasant experience was that all of the gigs were long term jobs through major firms, companies, etc. looking for 3+ years experience in a field I wasn’t qualified. Good new though, you can decline the gig and tell your assistant why in a comment box that they promise they read. Sure enough I kept getting those gigs. The other gigs were vague posts about needing a freelancer (no specific qualifications or subject matter listed) from average Joes on Twitter. I didn’t sign up for a link to a platform I do not have in addition to a possible job with no clue as to if I’m a fit or not. The whole premise is that Solidgigs does the research for us. Any of us can comb through social media platforms and find those same vague posts and inquire about them for free. Those were the only two types of gigs I got during my free trial making me skeptical, so I came here and immediately got concerned based off of the reviews from people who were blatantly ripped off and what truly does appear to be SCAMMED. This is what I did to avoid what many poor souls had to endure from this company. STEPS TO AVOID GETTING SCAMMED - 3 days before my free trial was over I turned my card they had on file off, and told my bank to keep a lookout for any fraudulent activity with money being pulled out from this company. I told them that it was a free trial I had canceled so in no way anything would fall on me. Like paying money I don’t have. - I followed the reply comment steps they sent to many of you about canceling the subscription under the account info. Except it looked like a red button saying cancel account and when I went to click on it it wasn’t a button at all, but rather a text box. I have a screenshot of this as I told them. How do they expect us to do, what they keep telling all of us to do, when there truly ISN’T a way to cancel anything on our own. Definitely felt scammy since some of the other complaints (please read them all) were similarly about not being able to cancel on their own and Solidgigs not getting back to them in timely manner and then being charged not a monthly rate but a yearly rate at that. THEN maybe being returned part of the money with a 25% processing fee taken off the money that should have never been taken to begin with. - Finally I kept screenshots of everything I sent (with date and time for proof so they couldn’t deny anything) then I clicked their link they sent many of you, in reply to your concerns, and explained that I do not wish to be scammed and even if they are or aren’t scamming people my card is off and my bank is aware. I also mentioned all of the screenshots of my attempts at cancelling on my own. -The very next day they sent a very short email saying it was canceled! Yay, however, even though I wasn’t receiving new gigs my account was still active. It wasn’t until a day after my free trial was truly over that my account was truly inactive. (I know this because it wouldn’t let me log in without entering new card info). CONCLUSION Please look at the red flags, and still be cautious with this company since they do have your card info. Red flag #1 not being able to cancel subscription on your own. #2 not upholding their motto of quality tailored jobs for freelancers that are worth the $. #3 many complaints about being charged too soon. #4 Being charged an annual fee (mentioned nowhere) and not a monthly fee. #5 Many complaints about not hearing a single word back. Communication and customer service doesn’t exist #6 many complaints about having 25% of their wrongfully taken money withheld from their return! It wasn’t a purchase they confirmed, so there should never be a processing fee on a full return of stolen money. In the end, see the flags, do what I did and immediately find reliable reviews and act on it. Not a wholesome, customer oriented business.

Zero stars. Bad Service. No Response. If I could give them a zero, I would. Each "gig" came in its own email, which meant multiple emails clogging our business's inbox every day. The "gigs" were often employment and job posting so many were not even useful. We cancelled our 7-day free trial (which we received no reminder about so mark your calendars) about 12 hours too late and were charged for a month of service. We reached out to ask them for a refund because we legitimately could get 0 value out of their service. We received a automatic email that we would be contacted within 2 business days but never heard anything from them, even after follow up. We disputed their charge with our credit card....which they finally (surprise) responded to ...to fight us on. WOW, awful service...if you can even qualify it as a service
