GBJJH astra Line a disater. Last night Friday the 28th October the fire alarm went of at approx 20.30, the fire brigade attended, no damage done, but they could not reset the fire alarm?? They contacted Astra Line (who are a total waste of time, there response time on calls is not acceptable) they could not give the fire brigade a code to reset the fire alarm, they said they could wait any longer and left. I tried to contact Astra Line who answered my call after approx 5 minutes. They said a engineer was on there way but could not give a time. A electrician from FORTEM came about 22.00 but could do nothing, again contacted Astra Line and said another engineer was on there way, but again could not give a time. Finally the fire alarm was switched of this morning the 29th at approx 03.30 that is 7 hours of constant noise.(This is not acceptable) Also when the fire alarm went of 2 fire doors did not close?? At this moment in time JJH leave a lot to be desired. Our ILC is of sick at the moment,as I said before Astra Line want to get there act together, when you pull your cord in your flat and takes up to 10 minutes to answer if you were ill you could be died before they answer. JJH Please get your act together we pay a high service charge, and get nothing for it.

GBTo call them absolutely appalling is… To call them absolutely appalling is quite generous of me. They just cannot seem to do a thing right when they eventually attempt to do anything at all. There has been a leak from the toilet of the flat upstairs on 2 occasions now. I have reported the fact my toilet, next doors and the flat aboves are faulty and not functioning properly and on occasion leak. The last leak drenched my carpet I was told a dehumidifier would be sent. After using towels to soak up as much water as possible and chasing up the dehumidifier for 2 weeks the carpets stank. When I finally spoke to someone I was told the carpets were destroyed and that they would pay for replacements. 5 months later nothing has been done about the toilets or the carpets. They don't empty gutters, we (4 tenants) each pay £20 a month service charge for maintenance of the communal areas the gardeners spend no more than 15 minutes a month at the properties they are bad mannered, lazy, useless and usually leave the commual areas in a worse state than on arrival they let the weeds grow through the flags up to a meter tall, when after many complaints a representative of the company phoned me and said he would come and check/audit there work next time they came and that he would contact me before hand so I could be there. They have since been twice and I never heard from him again . When they do send maintenance workers they destroy property. And there is now a considerable rat presence that has been reported on many occasions but not acted upon. They fail to communicate with me or each other. And to add insult to injury send news letters claiming to aim for excellency. The response below states they take all complaints very seriously, it could not be less accurate unless they mean they take the complaints been aired publicly seriously. They certainly don't act on complaints. The response also suggests I contact customer services which again is adding insult to injury as I have done so many many times. They clearly think my time is worthless. I still have not heard a thing from them regarding any repairs, the rat problem, the faulty toilets or the gardening problem.

GBJJH HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME Nothing can be worse than the way JJH run their housing association and the care and welfare of tenants. As far as the Tenancy Agreement goes, its not worth the paper is it written on. Where I live, JJH have broken every part of their responsibilities in the Tenancy Agreement. Including tenants health and safety, poor maintenance, allowing some tenants to continue using drugs and cause discomfort and distress to other tenants. Since I moved in 7 years ago, there has been a serious issue with the emptying of refuse bins. It can be weeks before the general waste bins are emptied. Bags of rotten food are left on the floor. When the bins are emptied, maggots can be seen in the bottom of the bins as they have never been washed-out in the time I have lived here - 7 years!! Then there is the smell which is though-out the building. It's an absolute disgrace. I’m not surprised that there is a big turnover of staff. How can they be expected to do a proper job when their hands are tied behind their backs. So, I won’t be holding my breath that things will be any better when JJH are taken over by SanctuaryHousing I live in Holly Bank House, Lindley, Huddersfield. A block of 15 flats in a lovely area. There are some lovely, kind and friendly tenants here. But recently there has been tenants that have caused problems. To the point of some tenants being frightened, stressed and intimidated. It seems that the rule is now to mix problem tenants with elderly, good tenants and hope they fit in. That is never going to happen here. There have had some help from some good JJH staff, but they have left because they were over stretch in covering too many areas, unable to carry out work due to ‘too many chiefs and not enough Indians’ and no job satisfaction.
