Worked, paid w/ crypto, received my item I heard about Alagoria via Crypto Zombie's review on youtube. I was skeptical and a little worried that I would get ripped off but I was willing to risk it to save the 10% on an item I wanted. I also just wanted to test it out as it seems like a cool system to allow users to purchase on amazon using crypto. My experience was good overall. The link to the official tracking confirmation from amazon was given to me quickly after I paid the balance. The tracking is an official amazon.com link so at that point I was at least convinced that something had been ordered. The only weird thing I encountered was that my item was originally tracked to arrive in 2 days from my order. I ordered on Oct 10th and it was set to arrive Oct 12th. The next day or so when I checked the tracking link the item's delivery date was changed to Oct 17th. I don't know why the item's delivery date was changed but I didn't really care that much. As long as the delivery was still scheduled I was happy. Maybe Alagoria had to change it from a prime delivery to a standard delivery? Or maybe Amazon had to delay the delivery due to other reasons? Delivery changes can happen with or without using a 3rd party like Alagoria so I don't blame them for this. I received the item I ordered yesterday so I'm overall very happy with the experience. I sent my crypto, got my official Amazon tracking link and then received the item I ordered. It appears that the items are sent as gifts and so you get an official Amazon gift receipt. This is cool too because then I assume you can just return or exchange the item directly with Amazon. I am happy with my item so I have no plans on returning it. But it's nice to know that I would have the option to just deal with Amazon directly if there was an issue with something I ordered. This brings me to some of the things that could improve with the Alagoria service. When you visit the tracking link it says sign-in for more details but that doesn't work because the account associated with the order is Alagoria's account and not your own and you may not even have a personal amazon account, nor do you need one to use Alagoria. So the tracking info is pretty vague. You have a link that says a packaged is going to be delivered but no specific details like why my order was changed from 2 day delivery to 7 day delivery. Or a way to confirm that it's even headed to the correct address. This also leads to the part that is scary when using a service like Alagoria. Their Amazon account is in control of the order. You have to put a lot of trust in Alagoria that they won't do things like cancel the order, change the order, or send it to the wrong address, etc. What I would like to see is some kind of escrow system where my crypto funds are held in an escrow wallet or smart contract and not released to Alagoria until the item is officially proven to be delivered via the tracking. The way it stands now you send your crypto to Alagoria and pray that they don't rip you off. But this is how it works for many of the current crypto payment systems so it's not an issue completely unique to Alagoria. What I want is something like this: I send my crypto to an escrow type wallet or smart contract. The funds are locked and neither Alagoria nor I can touch them until either a max time frame is exceeded or until the item is delivered. If the item is not delivered by the max time frame the crypto is refunded to me. If the item is delivered within the max time frame the crypto is paid out to Alagoria. And maybe there could be another option also if the order is cancelled or address is changed etc. that the crypto is refunded to me. So like for example with my order it could have been something like a 30-day max time frame for the escrow. Something where it exceeds the estimated delivery time for the item within reason to account for delivery delays like the one I had. So originally it was a 2 day delivery, it was changed to a 7 day delivery which both are easily covered in a 30 day max delivery time, or could make it a 60 day or 90 day max time depending on what works best. Then my funds would have remained locked until yesterday when the tracking status changed to delivered. At that point the escrow wallet or smart contract would release the funds to Alagoria. If the item had never arrived I would either have to wait for the max time frame to elapse to get my refund or maybe there could be something that would unlock the funds back to me if the tracking status changed to cancelled, etc. But the other big issue is that the tracking is vague and so Alagoria could for example send the item to a delivery address they control and the tracking would show up as delivered even though it was delivered to the wrong address. This would mean that they need to implement something where they would have to prove that the delivery address in the official confirmation matches the address I submitted. I'm not sure how easily a system like this could be implemented but it would greatly increase my willingness to recommend and use Alagoria if I knew that there were more built-in protections like this. As it stands now I would have to trust Alagoria to issue a refund if something went wrong. With a smart contract type escrow system I could know that until the item is officially proven to be delivered via tracking my funds are locked up and that I could count on an automatic refund if the order is cancelled or the item doesn't arrive within the max time frame set by the smart contract. Alagoria is a brand new company so hopefully they will work to make the system more trustless in the future. As it stands now the system involves a lot of trust and a lot of praying that nothing will go wrong. tl;dr - I paid w/ crypto, got an official tracking link, received the item I wanted. Good overall but would love to see an escrow system implemented to make the system more trustless.
