AUDisclosed my private email to mass spammers and scammers To get ahead of FilmFreeway on this, who seem to be waging a war against people who speak up - my name is Cadance Bell, an author & filmmaker from Australia who made the grave mistake of using the service in 2020. Since that time I have received many hundreds of spam emails for film festivals - most of which are scams or a notch above. I never requested to be signed up to any email lists and I never imagined that a company would divulge my sensitive & private contact details in this way. If you are a professional in the industry and want your identity and communications protected; avoid FilmFreeway.

GBFilmfreeway is far superior site to all… Filmfreeway is far superior site to all the others. Its great to navigate and edit your film and profile, the layout is great, its very easy to find the information you need. Blows the others away by a mile. It is much easier to put all the material in one place than to send all the material to different festivals all the time. I like the filtering possibilities where you look up festivals, which makes it easier for a fairly narrow film to find the festivals that may be relevant. As well as the ability to update the page easily and follow the film’s statistics.

GBOutstanding Customer Service The site was very easy to use, but the most impressive aspect of this company was the team behind it. I have never interacted with such polite and friendly people before. They were so willing to answer every question I had and always in a pleasant manner, no matter how silly or obvious. They really helped me a lot and made the whole process easy and relaxed. Outstanding customer service.

NZThis site is indispensable but watch out for "scams" This site is indispensable for many video art open calls for festivals and exhibitions. Most festivals require their site for applying to their festival. However, FilmFreeway, very occasionally, inadvertently posts scams. When alerted, they will take them down. IMDb recently wrote this year that they were forced to "de-listed 42 international festivals in the past few years"...."‘Scammers’ are believed to set up fake festivals, upload them to portals such as FilmFreeway and take small submission fees for filmmakers to submit their work. But the ‘scammers’ allegedly never watch the films and there is no proof the festivals even exist." I was recently accepted to a film festival, ECRÃ advertised as live/in person, but they showed all video artwork "online" only (with no excuse...it was well after COVID). Another one this year was the BuenosAires Indie Film Festival - buenosairesindiefilmfestival.com. They don't show the work at all, neither online nor live. They have a website with no named judges or no past winners. They take the money for a supposed prize - all without any sort of public viewing. There is no web presence on Google other than their spotty 2-page website. Film Freeway eventually took this site down, and I was refunded my fee.

GBI paid thousands on Film Freeway… I paid thousands on Film Freeway applying to festivals. I now receive literally tens of thousands of junk emails from all sorts of festivals I never heard of nor applied to. I can only explain this by Film Freeway selling our data to third parties. Utterly useless website.
