GBVerification an absolute nightmare I am a new user to Airbnb but I am unable to become a verified user and can't therefore make a booking. As someone who does not drive and therefore does not have a driving licence and as someone whose passport has expired I am unable to get verification. There is no other way to become verified ir would seem. I am cross that when trying to find a way to become verified Airbnb chat does not listen to the fact that I am in the UK and therefore do not have an identity card or biometric ID. I feel I am being discriminated against for not being a driver or an overseas traveller. They are unwilling to help me become verified by providing other of ID eg bank details, bills, taxation details etc Very inflexible !

GBMost excellent customer service from… Most excellent customer service from Airbnb Zagreb I believe (that's what it said on the phone call) I had an issue with (in my opinion) a mis-described property which was swiftly sorted to my satisfaction. Thanks for your help!

HUBiased handling of conflicts between guests and owners The customer service representative called Earl removed my rating of a property whose owner yelled at me and threatened to "throw my ass out" of the property. If a guest is abused, they silence him for speaking up.

GBAirBNB hounded us for furniture damage we didn't cause My partner and I just spent 9 nights in Mexico City at an AirBNB in a very nice centrally located neighborhood. The design and all the household appliances were very modern and convenient. The water was clean and didn't impart any infectious microbes. At the time the city was having widespread water shortages and water cleanliness problems. It was a very enjoyable stay... except for one thing: there were two wicker folding chairs positioned near a small table in the kitchen. At the beginning of our stay we noticed one of the chairs had a back that was unattached at the bottom such that it was swinging. A couple of days later I realized that the chair was making a cracking sound when I sat on it, but it didn't feel wobbly. However, soon I noticed that there were small pieces of wicker on the floor. I took a closer look at the chair and it looked like someone had but their knee part way through the seat of the chair. It was clearly damaged. This was now near the end of our stay. I realized that I should have reported this damage at the beginning of our stay. I didn't put my knee through the chair. I didn't notice the extent of the damage earlier because of being distracted by being on an enjoyable vacation. Shortly after we moved out of the AirBNB, AirBNB asked us to pay about $200. My partner explained that the damage to the chair occurred before we arrived. The consequence was that AirBNB constantly hounded us for $$. And my partner clearly explained how the damage occurred before our stay to no avail. I will not book any further stays in AirBNB.
