About John Hall's Alaska

Quality experiences – large and small – set John Hall’s Alaska apart. In operation since 1982, nobody covers more of Alaska or provides a more enriched small-group experience. As a small family-owned and operated tour company with a passion for Alaska, personal attention, exclusive remote access, immersive cultural encounters, and included meals and activities are hallmarks of the John Hall’s Alaska experience. These guided tours travel to all five regions of Alaska – the Artic, Inside Passage, Interior, Southcentral, and Southwest – and with group sizes ranging from only 24 to 40 guests, John Hall’s Alaska provides a more intimate “real” Alaska experience. Wildlife encounters, native cultural experiences, behind-the-scenes access, outdoor activities, and the finest lodging in Alaska are highlights of every departure. Combined tour offerings feature six of Alaska’s eight national parks and optional trips to the other two can be added before or after any scheduled tour. Depending on the itinerary, guests explore via a wide range of transportation modes such as luxury motorcoach, small aircraft, GoldStar first-class rail service, and small private charter vessels. To ensure the highest level of comfort, John Hall’s Alaska operates and maintains a custom-built fleet of spacious MCI motorcoaches that represent the best on the roads of Alaska. John Hall's Kiss Alaska is the Best Way to See Alaska Great, experiences on our Untamed Alaska Tour with John Hall's Kiss Alaska. John Hall's staff took care of every detail along the way on our 11-day trip. Our Guide, Gwen, was absolutely the best -- her knowledge of Alaska was tremendous. Our Cordova fishing excursion was amazing! We caught plenty of salmon, halibut, rock fish, and cod. Highlights also included our journey in Valdez on Prince William Sound on the Lu-Lu Belle. Captain Fred got us so close to the glacier and stopped numerous times along the way to get up close to the wildlife. Vern Halter's Dream a Dream Dog Sled Kennel visit was such an amazing opportunity to learn first-hand the intricacies of sled dog racing and listen to experiences of seasoned racers including Vern Halter and Cindy Abbott who have both run the Iditarod and relayed details of their experiences. We had too many other great experiences on this tour to list them all, but I highly recommend this trip!

The Southern African Safari trip was a trip of a lifetime! The Southern African Safari trip was outstanding! Not only did we stay in 5 star accommodations, but we saw quite a variety of wild animals. The guides at the Shamwari Reserve were exceptional at locating them. Victoria Falls was a magnificent sight to see and our weather the entire trip was great! Another highlight was spending a few nights/days on the Zambezi Queen, cruising the river. All in all, we were in five different African countries and this was a trip of a lifetime!

I will recommend them to anyone. I have been to Alaska 6 times now (with John Hall’s Alaska), I have been to Alaska for every season. There’s something awesome every time I go there. The accommodations are top notch, the food is superb, and the tour guides are very knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating to anyone with disabilities. And the wildlife and marine animals that you see up close (moose, bears, Dall sheep, harbor seals, humpback whales, just to name a few. You can never go wrong with John Hall’s Alaska.
