About Discovery Voyages

Offering high quality 3 - 6 day cruises with a maximum of 12 guests on the historic Discovery in beautiful Prince William Sound, Alaska (just south of the largest Alaskan city, Anchorage). We do offer a handful of trips that incorporate Denali National Park as well. Prince William Sound encompasses 3,800 miles of coastline to explore via kayak and foot. The Sound is home to the densest concentration of tidewater glaciers in the world, containing 50 glaciers and 17 tidewater glaciers (touching the ocean), known for dramatically calving huge ice chunks into the sea. Enjoy spectacular views from sea level up to 13,000 ft mountain peaks. More than 220 species of birds (and around 200,000 seabirds summer in the Sound), along with 30 species of land mammals, and at least a dozen marine mammal species make this area quite special. Resident marine mammals include humpback, sei, fin, minke, killer whales, and dall's porpoise as well as Steller sea lions, harbor seals, and sea otters. In western Prince William Sound, black bears may be seen on narrow beaches and are most often seen fishing when the salmon are spawning.

Everything was perfect! Everything was perfect!! Crew/staff were wonderful . Meals were excellent. Local seafood. Goes to the most beautiful places in Prince William Sound. Opportunities to hike and kayak.

Great adventure. Worth it! I loved every minute of our adventure. The weather was less than desirable, but I don’t think we missed a thing. Our chef, Meg, was creative and patient. There were eleven of us, and she pleased everyone. The adventures, included kayaking, photographing amazing wildlife, walking among the glaciers, and learning do much about Prince William Sound. The nature aspect of this trip was beyond beautiful. As a side note, the group we were with was terrific. We all got along great, chatted the entire time, and played a memorable game. Would I do this again? In a minute.

A Family Adventure This was truly an adventure of a lifetime! Being on a six cabin boat allowed views and experiences that you could never get from a cruise liner. Dean, Megan & crew were amazing. We saw up close so much wildlife & learned so much about Prince William Sound. Megan provided unbelievable gourmet meals & were beautifully presented. The scenery, kayaking, and hiking was outstanding. Memories for a lifetime! Thank you Discovery!

The difference between five and four The difference between five and four, for me, is the changes made by having cruise ships in PWS.

Wonderful Small Boat Cruise Great Boat and Crew. Loved the cruise a joyful week. The food was outstanding!! Would give 5 stars, but the expert nature/photographer Hugh, who they speak highly of, was unable to go on the trip last minute do to catching Covid. Disappointing to say the least, should have been credited back something for this loss to all participants.
