I've rafted with Wilderness Aware… I've rafted with Wilderness Aware Rafting for 26 years. I've rafted with several other companies in other parts of the United States and Wilderness Aware is by far the best. Their focus on safety is outstanding. The guides are knowledgeable, funny and sensitive to special needs of their guests. I've done multi-day overnight trips with them as well as day-trips on just the most intense parts of the Arkansas River. If you want to do white-water rafting in the western U.S. - this is the company you should use.

The staff members were professional and made us feel completely confident in their safety-first approach. The facilities and equipment were clean, and the guides were really, really fun in addition to being competent. They inspired our kids to want to be guides one day themselves!

Safety is a big concern, especially since my partner and I do not raft a lot, so we felt like we were in good hands when they walked us through a long safety training and ensure that everyone understood the various scenarios we were likely to encounter. Our river guide did a great job of giving clear and direct instructions when we were on the river. When we were in calmer waters, he shared a lot of really neat information about the history of the area and the river. We can't wait for our next trip with Wilderness Aware.

The crew worked extremely hard day in and day out, setting up everything, taking everything down, cooking, paddling, you name it, they did it. Highly recommend to anyone in the world to go down the Arkansas River with those 2. The Ferry Fullbacks will never forget taking the middle line down Seidel's Suck Hole in 4800 cfs.

We have used WAR for several years... We have used WAR for several years for our annual family full day raft trip on virtually every section of the Arkansas river. Their guides are well trained and fun, and their equipment is top notch. Lastly, they are super organized and their facilities are very clean.
