AUdisgraceful bunch of con artist thieves I agree, this company needs negative reviews. What a disgraceful bunch of con artist thieves. Truly Trumpian! Quote is in USD (but not shown on screen, only in fine print in receipt of purchase) so when paying in AUD the quote is effectively irrelevant. Then charged a third party booking fee that was not quoted or even mentioned throughout the booking process. Avoid at all costs.

GBGood and bad I have used Orbitz for several trips, business and personal. They are good and bad but I will no longer book through them. They helped me change my flights when traveling in Canada recently and that was huge, but most recently I was a week out from a single-night reservation and they charged $25 to push it a month. My issue is that I have plenty of rewards to cover that cost but they wouldn't let me use them. The reward program was one of the reasons I started using them and after finding out you don't get rewards for car rentals and hotel rentals don't get rewards with hotel programs when booked through Orbitz. Using the rewards is bad as well, they typically charge double on all rooms when used. It just isn't worth it. I gave them two stars because I was able to change the reservation and didn't have to abandon it. Plus they did help out in Canada, but it took a long chat with a moron that ended up with a call to the 800 number to get straight.

GBNo help on hotel stay date mistake Booked a flight and hotel together. Due to the length of the flight, it arrives a day later in the destination country. Orbitz automatically set the start date for the hotel for the day the flight leaves... so I was going to miss the entire first day of the reservation and most of the second. I noticed it right after I got to their confirmation window / itinerary and immediately contacted support (5 minutes after booking). After waiting 10 minutes to chat with someone and waiting 2-5 minutes between each of their questions, I needed to respond to their texts within 60 seconds to avoid having my request summarily closed. Having managing to do that, I was told there was nothing the frontline agent could do, but that they would escalate the case internally. I got an email the next day saying the reservation was confirmed with the hotel and Orbitz would do nothing to help me change it. I replied that a room credit would be fine, no money need actually change hands. They still refused to do anything at all. Would not recommend using them.

GBAgents either don't know, or don't want to implement airline restrictions/policies properly. We had to three-way call in an airline representative to explain to the Orbitz agent that we were allowed to make changes and that there were flights available to book the changes. Only then were we able to actually get our flight rebooked. Seriously. Book directly with the airline. It costs less. You will see more flight options. The features and restrictions of the tickets will be more transparent. Finally, in my experience the airlines are more helpful when you need assistance. And *that's* a pretty low bar that Orbitz fails to clear. I've been an Orbitz user since late 2001. I'm out.

GBOrbitz failed to stand behind the reservation cost it quoted Orbitz made a car rental reservation for me, and included how much additional I would have to pay upon pickup. When the car rental company charged me more than that and I reported it to Orbitz, they threw up their hands and said I had to deal with the car rental company. This begs the question why deal with Orbitz in the first place.
