Good and bad I have used Orbitz for several trips, business and personal. They are good and bad but I will no longer book through them. They helped me change my flights when traveling in Canada recently and that was huge, but most recently I was a week out from a single-night reservation and they charged $25 to push it a month. My issue is that I have plenty of rewards to cover that cost but they wouldn't let me use them. The reward program was one of the reasons I started using them and after finding out you don't get rewards for car rentals and hotel rentals don't get rewards with hotel programs when booked through Orbitz. Using the rewards is bad as well, they typically charge double on all rooms when used. It just isn't worth it. I gave them two stars because I was able to change the reservation and didn't have to abandon it. Plus they did help out in Canada, but it took a long chat with a moron that ended up with a call to the 800 number to get straight.

No help on hotel stay date mistake Booked a flight and hotel together. Due to the length of the flight, it arrives a day later in the destination country. Orbitz automatically set the start date for the hotel for the day the flight leaves... so I was going to miss the entire first day of the reservation and most of the second. I noticed it right after I got to their confirmation window / itinerary and immediately contacted support (5 minutes after booking). After waiting 10 minutes to chat with someone and waiting 2-5 minutes between each of their questions, I needed to respond to their texts within 60 seconds to avoid having my request summarily closed. Having managing to do that, I was told there was nothing the frontline agent could do, but that they would escalate the case internally. I got an email the next day saying the reservation was confirmed with the hotel and Orbitz would do nothing to help me change it. I replied that a room credit would be fine, no money need actually change hands. They still refused to do anything at all. Would not recommend using them.

!!Car rental scam at Loreto, Mexico, Airport!! !!Car rental scam at Loreto Airport!! Do not book a car rental through Orbitz, Expedia, or other 3rd party agent when reserving a vehicle in Loreto!!!!! If you do, the car rental counter staff at the airport will tell you that Orbitz, Expedia, etc. “never sent them the reservation and that they don’t have any vehicles.” Which means that you must go to all the other car rental agencies to see who has a car and how much it will cost. One car rental company staffer wanted to charge $880 for 5 days and another wanted to charge $1200 for 5 days!!!! Since someone in our group spoke Spanish, she was able to get one person to agree to $440 for 5 day – still twice as much as the original reserved price of $230. Shame on you, Loreto car rental agencies!

Dont book low-cost airlines through Orbitz!!!! Not free or easy 24 hr cancellation When booking my easyjet ticket site states bold and clear - "Free cancellation within 24 hours". No asterisk or caveat for low cost airlines. In the fine print when finalizing payment, it states that if an airline charges a cancellation fee it is passed to the customer. You canNOT cancel easyjet directly with Orbitz, must call easyjet - and then esayjet charges a $75 cancellation fee (even within the 24 hours). The charge shows up from easyjet, not Orbitz so you cant dispute with the credit card company.

I booked a hotel I booked a hotel. When I arrived I noticed I booked wrong location. Called Orbitz. To ask about transferring to a different location. When they told me not possible. I was going to just go to where I had booked the original hotel. The hotel said Orbitz canceled the reservation and Orbitz denied it. And won't give me a refund???
