GBCareer Upgrader took my 10+ old resume… Career Upgrader took my 10+ old resume and gave it life. Neil took the time to understand what I wanted and was able to deliver a resume, elevator speech, cover letter and thank you letter. He also taught me where I make tweaks to my resume as needed, and I appreciated the skills he taught so I could take that with me. I also had 3 coaching sessions with Neil. They were customized, informative and helped me decide, “what is it I want to do from here?”. I highly recommend if you are looking for someone to upgrade your resume, let Neil and Career Upgrader take care of it.

GBI really wanted to like Career Upgrader… I really wanted to like Career Upgrader and Neil's service. However, there were far too many areas that fell flat - especially for the higher-than-average cost I paid. 1. I did not ever fully receive the active job placement service as promised and paid for. At the beginning, this wasn't 100% Neil's fault as it seemed he had a troublesome employee. After said employee was let go, Neil promised me that I would receive this service, however I was still never sent any leads as was promised. 2. Communication was very clunky. I purchased 4 coaching sessions total - and I had to proactively reach out to Neil to ask what the next steps were each time. A little bit more direction and guidance would have been very much appreciated. 3. The process was very unclear. Specifically with the active job placement, I had to ask several times what is happening, and what is supposed to be happening. The process wasn't explained to me until I asked. And by the time we discovered that Neil's recruiter was not working on the job placement service for me, it had already been over 4 weeks. In the world we live in now where the job market is so tight and competitive, timing and speed is crucial. So this delay was totally unacceptable. 4. I had one un-used coaching session, and had no plan on using it because I've been so disappointed with this service. I asked for a refund, to which Neil replied that all sales are final. I understand that each business has the right to their own refund policy, but as a customer that paid several thousands of dollars for services that were not received and underperformed, I really wish that Neil would have provided some sort of recourse. --- I highly encourage anyone who is considering hiring a "professional" career coaching and job hunting service to consider the level of professionalism (or lack thereof) from this experience.

GBDisappointing Experience with Career Upgrader I contracted Career Upgrader after being unemployed during the pandemic and having no luck in finding a new job. Career Upgrader sent me a proposal with the details of their services and we had what they call a Clarity Call to ask questions and better understand their services. Unfortunately, the services I received were far from what they said they will provide. Here are some details in regards to my experience: 1. I did not receive the placement services as per the explanation I received prior to purchasing the services. - No regular meetings/calls were scheduled to provide status on the progress and work completed. I only received a few emails with information about LinkedIn connections requests/calls. - Availability to work on the career placement services seemed to be very limited with periods of times being 100% unavailable. - No leads were provided for potential jobs that match my qualifications and career goals. - No informal networking conversations were coordinated to assist with the job search process. - No informational calls were coordinated to discuss potential job fits with local companies. - No proactive communication to check on my job search progress or intent to continue building a professional relationship. - No interviews (informal or formal) with the companies that were told to have existing relationships with Career Upgrader. 2. Coaching sessions were strictly based on pre-existing documents and were not tailored to my career situation. Additional time to ask questions was strictly limited to remaining call time (if any) after the documents were explained. 3. LinkedIn Profile and Executive Resume were not delivered as per the promised dates. Multiple follow- ups were required before receiving them. My resume was not re-written as per the service explanation but re-formatted to match standard ATS. I was looking forward to working with Career Upgrader and having a great experience, specially while going through such difficult times due to the pandemic. It's disappointing and frustrating to pay so much money when you don't have a job, and end up dealing with businesses with such poor services and ethics. I wish I have had seen honest reviews before contracting Career Upgrader, but the ones I found at the time were mostly from entrepreneurs and not real job seekers.

I appreciate the work that Neil did and the way he led me. I am set to begin my new career and do not have to worry about a thing now.

GBDo not trust Did not provide any of the services I was supposed to get. Neil said his placement success was 96%, so I could be one of the unlucky 4%; however I got 4 positions on my own with my resume. He provided countless excuses to defer accountability and never met deadlines. Even the resume he rewrote for me was a literal copy paste with a new format.
