GBAfter a fair amount of research After a fair amount of research, my family and I settled on Chicago Van Rental. I was initially drawn to this company because on their website they advertised, falsely, that until June or July something they have a promotion of free delivery of their rentals. When I called and requested this, I was told that because of covid they are no longer providing this. In my mind, I understood, but it was June and covid restrictions etc were in effect back in March. I felt like it was more than enough time to have someone update their website. With that aside, when we arrived to the rental facility my husband decided to again upgrade the vehicle to a larger (that's 2 upgrades now) Mercedes model. It seemed like they were pretty thorough and took many "before" pictures with an ipad. The amenities were either difficult to use or non functioning. One of the reasons we went with this company is that their vans come with a complimentary xbox/tv. The one in our vehicle worked oddly. You needed to hold the remote at a certain upside down angle for it to work. When it was on, it was non-functional. Our mistake for saying nothing about this, but we were excited to go on a trip after being quarantined indoors for months. We were told that we can drop off the van earlier and leave the keys in the drop off box. The paperwork did state that the vehicle is the customer's responsibility until it is checked in. This can be misleading! One would safely assume that the vehicle would be checked in immediately (the following day), but in our case it was not. We dropped off the van on a Friday evening and did not hear anything from them until Sunday afternoon (they are open Saturday and Sunday from 8 am- 6pm). On Sunday afternoon, a gentleman called and said they found damage on the windshield and that we were responsible for it. We questioned their timing given it was dropped off over 24 hours ago, almost 48 hours ago. They proceeded to send us "after" photos, which is fine. We questioned why there were numbers on the after photos and not the before. The response we got was that they are now starting to number their vehicles. There were plenty of back and forth messaging as we were concerned about the timing of their report. We understand their policy, but were far from impressed by the way this was handled. They were rude and defensive. They told us to hire an investigator to prove this was not our fault. The gentleman communicating with my husband about this was arrogant and mean. The way a business handles an upset customer is very telling of their beliefs and values. They did not treat us with any respect. We will never do business with them nor will we ever recommend their services to anyone.

GBVery pleased with our rental Very pleased with our rental. We rented the 12 passenger for a drive down from Chicago to Florida for Spring Break. Van was well maintained and clean. We had no issues with the entire drive there and back. Having the TV/Xbox was a definite plus as it kept everyone occupied most of the drive. Van had up-to-date safety features (back up camera/sensors) which are helpful in a large vehicle. Would definitely rent from here again in the future.
