GBI had gotten this bike for my son and… I had gotten this bike for my son and he loves it! I was weary of the belt drive having never seen or used one myself. The belt had broken over time and reached out to the company and they were very helpful with getting me set up for replacement belts and they arrived fairly fast as well! Been biking all of my life and still to this day and love passing that tradition on to my children. Again was not completely sold on the belt drive idea, but this are wonderful bikes! Having rode this particular bike myself as a grown man, I can say the belt drive is very nice and I'm sold!

GBGreat bikes and customer service This is my son's second bike from Belsize. He recently out-grew his 16" bike, and we got him a 20" one. We picked Belsize primarily because of its light weight. He had another 16" bike when he first started learning, but that was too heavy for him, and he didn't want to practice with it. Yet he 'mastered' riding bikes the second day on a Belsize bike :) There was a little hiccup with our second bike. Everything was great except that the box came with 2 right pedals. I contacted their support email and Shirley was great. She sent me a left pedal and now my 7 yo is happily riding his 20" bike.

GBGreat bike and great customer service My son transitioned easily from a balance bike to his new Belsize belt-driven bike. He was zipping around within minutes. Customer service is very responsive and helpful, if you need any help along the way.

GBSolid Kid Bikes Belsize bikes look good, have kid-friendly geometry, and include quality components. Just bought two of these (a 16” and a 20”) for my 6yr old and 8yr old. Paint job on the bikes is excellent. After being on balance bikes, moving to the Belsize was a great choice. Each kid picked up pedaling within a day or two. This is where the geometry matters — seat height, reach, and wheelbase are suited to help kids feel stable. While weight is not technically a matter of geometry, I think of them together, and the weight of these bikes is perfect for kids — these bikes are very light and easily maneuvered by kids. Picking up the bikes after a fall and/or walking the bikes around is no problem whatsoever for either of my kids. Importantly, the brakes are kid-friendly: levers fit kid-sized hands, can be squeezed easily, and are Tektro brand (which is a legit component manufacturer). Assembly was mostly already completed right-out-of-the-box, with remaining tasks (front wheel, handlebar, and seat) being relatively painless and quick. Attaching the belt-guard (i.e., chain-guard) was tedious, and I ultimately elected to NOT attach it. It is functionally unnecessary (after all, high-end mtb do not have guards), and the bikes work just fine without the guards in place. Any misgivings about a belt-driven bike ought to be shelved. I see no problems so far and do not anticipate any. The belt is made by Continental (a legit manufacturer for motor vehicle belts and tires, and also bike tires). My guess is that the specs on this belt are intended to meet repetitive cycling under loads similar to what a small engine would require. I’m not worried in the slightest, and I cannot imagine that changing/replacing the belt would be very difficult IF such should ever become necessary. Shipping was prompt. Unfortunately, one bike was missing an important bolt (for attaching the seat). Belsize was prompt in responding on this matter and provided the size for the bolt, along with a refund to cover the cost of the bolt (which I was able to obtain from my local hardware store with no trouble).
